I'm in desperate help! I want to watch a movie about how it really was in the 60's and just a movie about the hippie life! I already know about most of the documentaries if they are fairly popular. Please reply with some good movies!
Do you only want documentaries or do you want scripted films as well? I might be able to help you on both accounts. :2thumbsup:
How come disneys Alice in wonderland isn't on here! lol and im talking about the original not the new one
That was more of a 70's movie. not trying to split hairs... The doors was a pretty good one. I really liked almost famous.
Never saw Dazed and Confused, but the pic looks like it's about Led Zep, who certainly weren't typical of what is was like in the sixties as they quickly became superstars. Hair? Really? Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. No movie came close to tackling the drug culture better than this movie. Johnny Depp in one of his best roles.
I was just going to post Billy Jack, I just watch the trial of Billy Jack. that has allot of hippie people in it I would say

Though not directly set in the era but later, the film Peace, Love, and Misunderstanding gives a glimpse into hip culture that I found quite good.
There a a few youtube doco's about Haight Ashbury and the SF area in 1969. There is also a few "super 8" films about SF and the scene there from about 1966-67 if you look hard enough on video sites
Tribes (1970) -------------------- A Marine Corps drill instructor who is disgusted by the fact that the Corps now accepts draftees finds himself pitted against a hippie who has been drafted but refuses to accept the military's way of doing things. - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - I also remember a flick called the Harrad Experiment= = but Id have to look it up, , I think it was more about the sexual revolution than the era of "The Hippie"
Also "The Boys in Company C" , which features R. Lee Ermey in his first film role, as a D.I., of course.
