Hey this site rocks! im 16 love the 60's only place id go if i had a time machine i have started a radio program on my local radio station called the HIppie Hour which is me and my friend tal;king about the 60's like the fashion and why be a hippie and how great it is to be a hppie etc and playin some wicked 60's and feel good music but my basic facts are a bit well basic so it would be great if any one had any info for me to make my show true to the 60's its on wcrfm.org.uk on sundays 1-2 so if your interested let me know peace xXx

hmm well 1st off welcome, and second i dunno really how you can have much more then basic facts, cause there really arent many facts that ya can claim apply to all or even most hippies but yeas would love to talk n check out the show n see what kinda facts your talkin bout and share experiences and ideas and whatever 1 thing though, these days theres a ton of young hippies out there, all wishin they could get back to the 60's..and that kinda defeats the purpose of the hippie movement which to me was always about livin to create a better tomorow, reacting to the horrors of today, but living a lifestyle that would leadto a more beautiful future sure theres lessons to be learned from the past, but to dwell on the past and hope to get back there prevents movement forward we will never recreate tyhe 60s, but what we can do is become an influence of change in the 10's and create something new that this worlds never seenj before...a step beyond the lessons of the 60's....and yes like the 60's music will be a guiding force, but it wont be the same music from then, it will be something new, but just as inspirational

Hey there fan-girl. First of, welcome to this site. Nice to know you got a hippie radio going on. I'll check it out soon and tune in. I too was inspired by some kind of radio back in the day... It was called underground radio back then. Back in the late 60-70's, underground radio only played the likes of Country Joe & The Fish, Frank Zappa & The Mothers, MC5, etc... you get the idea.
