Theodore here. You can call me Rainbowflower.
Okay, I think Hiphop should not be allowed on a hippie forum, because hiphop stands for something completely different than hippies do.
Hiphop stands for violance, rape, war and murder for instance. Hippies stand for peace, love and understanding.

So I hope all you hiphoppers either change your taste for music or leave this website.

    Love and peace, Rainbowflower

    WRONG!!!

ever heard of conscious hip hop?

hip hop is only and art form expressing the realities of urban america

hip hop is far more grounded to reality than, say the disco biscuits for instance

so you say i must conform? so basically you are going against your so said ideals of freedom of expression?

Right on lemon-skunk. This topic is getting kind of old. Didn't we just expand on this in another thread?

Wake up rainbow birdfly man. You're being a bit of a hypocrit there sir regarding what I thought hippies stand for.

This is not completely relevant, but I personally witnessed some strung out hippies do some violent shit in desperation on Haight & Ashbury - the birthplace of hippieville isn't it? Oh well. Kind of blows your theory out of the water.

And why don't you go fuck yourself, faggot. I'll do whatever I want. You don't like that, then why don't you leave.

You're basing your theroy on sterotypes, man. Not all 'Hiphoppers' carry a nine & pimp slap a hoe. Just like not all hippes smoke weed & beileve in peace. So there is no reason why we all can't get along. Get your facts straight.

ROFL says the guy with E in his sig brandishing guns.

The OP is a troll, but I agree with him on this one. People who aren't in urban areas don't realize the negative affect hip hop has had on every part of society.

That's a huge load of bullshit right there. I'm sick of people believing the stupid fucking stereotype that all hip hop promotes gang violence. I'd somehow expect a bunch of hippies to be more open minded than this.

Clearly a statement by someone who doesn't live in ''urban'' areas

This is really funny, cause IDK if you noticed but, YOUR SIGNATURE IS EAZY E TOTING GUNS. Are you that inept?

Pfft right. Although this city is about 1/10th the size of philly, it's one of a couple urban areas outside of boston. It's a huge fucking shithole because people think it's 'cool' to be a G. It's cool to have illegal guns and rob people for chump change. It's cool to harass white people who are not 'hip hop.' I could go on and on, even giving you nice anecdotes about why I hate the hip-hop culture, but I shouldn't need to. The writing is on the wall.

How many people have been shot in philly in the past ten days cause "nigga dissed me!" How many people have been murdered over a parking spot in the past few days? Gimme a fucking break, it's cool to resolve disputes with guns now, you can thank hip-hop (largely) for that.

Yea I live in south Philly, I am one of the few white people in my area, I walk around in kurtas praying to Lord Krsna, and even I listen to hip hop. Anyone who claims that a genre of music is explicit to certain stereotypes of people is an idiot. Also, anyone who does not know that Bird Migration is just joking to catch reactions, obviously doesnt know who he is :)

Exactly. Now anyone with half a brain knows you can't blanket all of one genre as doing X or Y. However, you can't deny that stereotypes in general do hold some water.

To further illustrate, ask yourself how many pop rap/hip-hop artists are NOT advocating violence/crack dealing/the coolness of gangsterism. The underground artists preaching consciousness and love and whatnot are NOT the ones who are speaking to the masses.

But the thing is, that's no reason to demonize the entire genre of hip hop. I can under stand where you're coming from somewhat, though. By the way, I don't have a picture of Eazy E in my sig, nor am I particularly a fan of his music.

I personally feel that theres plenty of hip hop and r&b artists that aren't all about murder. But I listen to ICP and whatnot so yeah, just be considerate of others, be cause you would be amazed at how diverse all music genres have become
