We've recently upgraded our software and added more caching on the server to boost the speed of the site. How is it for you? If you are experiencing slow times, please indicate what your connection is like (cable, dsl or dialup) and speed if you know it. Also your location.

    Thanks! :)

hmm I havent noticed a considerable jump in speed, but I have cable... so it always seems fast, unless the server is having probs

Well I'm at work for the time being and we have multiple T1 lines. I think there's 5 computers sharing the T1 dedicated to our QC offices, and I'm the only one who is on the computer so the speed is quite nice. Although I have noticed less timeouts here lately, I believe. Then again I'm not on as much either, so that could be why I haven't had that problem more than once or twice the past couple of weeks.

I had previously been on the receiving end of repeated timeouts but this seems to have gone away. Cable connection here.

Have similar slowdowns/ timeouts at both locations as late as this afternoon.

Beach: Camtel DSL (coonass telco serving upper Texas coast)
SE of Houston: Houston RoadRunner Cable

Will furnish speeds later - want actual or advertized?

Now that I think about it
HF has been worse the last coupla days at both locations here.

Haven't been having probs w/other sites so that sorta rules out the ISPs.

Course I might be spending more than the avg amount of time here... *L*

It does seem a bit faster now that I cleared my cache and set it to "New Forum Style", but before I did so I couldn't even open this thread! Very nice...I have cable.

Well, it's not very fast like when I turn off the computer. It's like my new chainsaw, if you don't pull on the string, it's a lot longer to cut trees...

Not sure bout the rest of yall but
I'm about this close to timing out
roughly half the time so far tonight.

Camtel DSL is fine on other sites.

i wish i was smart enough to say anything usefull. my connection is dialup btw.
i haven't noticed any big obvious difference good or bad, but maybe i'm just too naturaly numb to notice. i think it's a little faster but i can't really tell and the only time my machine gives me any numbers is when i'm downloading a big file from somewhere.

task manager just tells me the nominal setting. every once in a while it flashes a percentage. that looks pretty random to me. i don't think this is telling me anything other then what my own machine is doing or set at. it says link speed 54kbps but i think that's just the setting.

if there's some way to actualy monitor this from my end i have no idea how.
other then subjectively, which is hard to be sure of.

well there have been times when there has been a lot of lag and there isn't now that i can tell. but i'm not sure how much that means either.
