Hip Forums now part of the Internet Defense League

    Today Hip Forums joined the Internet Defense League. This organization was established to fight attempts to censor the Internet by various organizations, lobbying groups, corporations and governments.

    The people behind this organization are the same ones who helped stop SOPA from becoming law by coordinating efforts via social networks.

    Now they are asking websites to join the Internet Defense League so that information can be passed on to our visitors about pending legislation and actions to prevent Internet censorship.

    So you may see notices on the forums occasionally with important information and a way to contact your representatives in Congress so that we can coordinate with others to stop legislation that will harm the freedom we now have on the Internet.

    Like I.C.U.G used to be in the 80s on bbs's! (Although ICUG was meant to keep people OFF sites (Idiot Control Users Group))

    Any BBS that was a part of ICUG had to keep the members on the list,OFF THIER SITES....


    No one liked the group @ all!!

    In Case Any Of Are Wondering Who Steven Conroy Is, He Is Our

    Government Minister For Communications, And In 2009 He Set Out To

    Introduce An Internet Filter To Australia And At One Stage "Hip

    Forums" Was Banned From Here For 2 Months When They Did A Test Run...[​IMG].

    This Cost $ 125 Million Dollars In Consultation Fees And Although

    The Results Of All Studies Revealed His Plan Could Never Work, He

    Pushed Ahead Regardless.

    Fast Foward To About 3 Months Ago And A Very Red Faced Mr Conroy

    Announced The Plan Was Dead In The Water.

    3 Years And $ 125 Million, Methinks They Should Dock His Pay Each

    Week Until He Pays Us Taxpayers Back Every Cent Of It...[​IMG].
