I have always wondered why more HF members don't frequent the chat room. Why don't you, or why do you frequent hip chat?
never any drug talk the couple times i have been in there. and i prefer the forums because if there is more than say 5 people n there i dont really pay attention to all that is in the chat. but that being said, i have only been in chat a couple times. :mickey:
i do go to the chat and i do chat about drugs and it is kinda lame like underpantsman up there, most people probably prefer a forum, since we are at a mainly forum website.
I Need Time To Type And Correct My Mistakes.... BUT, I Have A Question, Is It Possible To Enter Chat And Just Observe Without Engaging In The Chat...??? Cheers Glen.
Because I only like participating in conversations that interest me with people who interest me. I don't like the "all welcome" aspect of the chat. I don't even use the chat on Facebook/Gmail. Either message me or email me or you ain't talking to me.
I enjoy the chat, I think it's a great feature to have. I participate in a select few Thread topics on the forums and they're not always bustling with activity, so the chat provides some interaction and entertainment in between posting in threads. I have come to enjoy chatting with several of the members who participate in chat as well. Most of the regulars I interact with in chat are different than most the regulars I interact with in threads, so that aspect appeals to me. There can be some inane convo in the chat sometimes but there are threads like that as well.
I think most people just don't visit chat cause it moves so fast and can get so crazy. It is very different pace than forum posting. I for one love chat since I am one of the moderators there and put a lot of time and effort in keeping it an enjoyable place to visit. If anyone ever has any questions about it feel free to ask me
I go to chat cuz I enjoy chatting with the ones that go in there....including the WEIRDO above me .... Dr Moderator I have loads of fun!
Damn, well said. While I don't completely agree with you, I do see where you're coming from and I can relate to what you're saying to an extent. The thing that I don't like about chat rooms is that I think too often people use them as an alternative to real human interaction. People get so immersed in communicating over the internet that they forgot how to communicate with real people face-to-face. However, I must say that some of the most interesting and intelligent people I've "met" have been on the internet, so maybe it's not all that bad. Surely some of the best conversations I've had have been with the some of the faceless people I've met online. It's sad but true. Also, is it just me, or do chat rooms feel so 1999? There is almost something really lame about chat rooms at this point in net history.
