INVITATION to all of us here to join together at the '4ums' kitchen campfire scene at this year's Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes.

What is the annual national Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes?
10,000 to 20,000 free spirits who come together and commune in Nature every year free of charge.

After Woodstock, or so the legend goes, the Hippie Counter Culture was inspired to create an annual Gathering.

A Gathering that would healp each of us to experience the spontaneity of Tribal Life.

Where each of us can share our own individual spirit paths with each other.

And, to help fulfill the ancient prophecy that, 'A day will dawn when all the Tribes will gather and merge together into a Rainbow Family of Light.

Now, most of us only know each other from these Forums here in Cyberspace.

Well, dozens of us from these Forums will be at this year's Gathering, and now we can know each other by sharing this total Tribal experience together.

Sharing a kitchen campfire scene, as many of you already know, helps to make our Rainbow experience even more real.

So, bring yourself, your friends, your family, your passions, and let's connect.

If you have any kitchen supplies and/or bulk foods, bring them for sure. The more supplies we have, the more of us we can feed.

I'll post a separate thread, listing useful kitchen supplies, over in the Rainbow Family Forum.

This year's Gathering will be somewhere in the Great Basin Region. We won't know exactly where till the Spring Council around the second week of June.

I'll get there on the 14th or 15th of June to set-up. I'll stay till the 10th of July to help clean-up.

    See ya 'on the bus'

    Going to this year's Gathering?

    It's time to get ready!
And if you can, bring Food! Lots of FOOD!
As much as you want to share.

Once you do crack you never go back.

That may work both in the drug terms and homosexuality (no... i'm not being discriminatory, I could just as easily say something such as that about transexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals, transvestites... etc... etc.. the list could go on forever)

    Brave Sir Ruben,

You don't have to buy or trade for food.

    If I eat, you eat.

That's the nature of non-hierarchical man.

ps. please read the post immediately previous to this post

wow, good replies m6m!... what about what jimmpop had to say, you're not gonna try to brainwash us are ya?
and what about free love... is there going to be free love?
And meat? Can I eat a hamburger and not get kicked in the balls by some angry, hairy, cattle-caring feminist? (and I would at least hope to see a flower in her hair, btw)
i just wanna have a good time, man... spread the word of peace of love.
    cheerio

    Hi VanAstral,

JimmyPop brings up a good point.

Remember, most of us have been institutionalized K-12 and beyond.
So yes, you will run into insecure control freaks.
They exist within all of us who have been tamed and civilized.
And despite ourselves, you'll feel it in a thousand subtle ways just like at school.

But unlike school, The Gathering aims for the unstructured spirit of spontaneity.
The Spirit of Crazy Horse riding free and wild following your own spirit path across the open skys.
No fences, no walls, no classrooms nor clocks, nor bells, nor monitors, because the windows have shattered, and the doors have collapsed, and you are as free as the wind.

So don't even think of coming, unless you possess the loving peaceful strength of a Rainbow Warrior.

ps. there's some but not much meat eating there, because we live without refridgeration. except in bus-village, where some folks have generators and share barbeques.

    Hi, Rainbow Warrior,
so the free love... it's all good? it sounds good. and forgive me if i seem skeptical, I am not at all, but jimmypop brought up that spaceship and all I can think about is that Simpsons episode in which Homer gives all their money to The Leader, and the Simpsons pick fruit, and sleep in dorm rooms.... wait... that's exactly like backpacking. that's a good life. I can't wait to do it again.
strength in love and peace I do posess but I do not want to be possessed.

    TortheViking,

The Gatherings are way simple scenes.
Simplistic to the point of being nearly non-structured.
Imagine modern Industrial Man in a near un-structured environment.
So non-structured that it allows for a window of spontaneity.
All we can do in a situation like that is go on faith.
    Kinda scary I know.

But don't give up on these Gatherings.
We may not have the chance to even know such experiences in the future.
Worse, we may not even care.
