Hip Forums Campout at the Rainbow Gathering

INVITATION to all of us here to join together at the '4ums' kitchen campfire scene at this year's Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes.

What is the annual national Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes?
10,000 to 20,000 free spirits who come together and commune in nature every year free of charge.

After Woodstock, or so the legend goes, the Hippie Counter Culture was inspired to create an annual Gathering.

A Gathering that would help each of us to experience the spontaneity of Tribal Life.

Where each of us can share our own individual spirit paths with each other.

And, to help fulfill the ancient prophecy that, 'A day will dawn when all the Tribes will gather and merge together into a Rainbow Family of Light'.

Now, most of us only know each other from these forums here in Cyberspace.

Well, dozens of us from these Forums will be at this year's Gathering, and now we can know each other by sharing this total Tribal experience together.

Sharing a kitchen campfire scene, as many of you already know, helps to make our Rainbow experience even more real.

So, bring yourself, your friends, your family, your passions, and let's connect.

If you have any kitchen supplies and/or bulk foods, bring them for sure. The more kitchen supplies we have, the more of us we can feed.

I'll post a separate thread listing useful kitchen supplies over in the Rainbow Family Forum tomorrow.

This year's Gathering will be somewhere in the Great Basin Region. We won't know exactly where till the Spring Council around the second week of June.

I'll get there on the 14th or 15th of June to begin set-up. I'll stay till the 10th of July to help clean-up.

I really want to go this year and probably will. I've never gone to one before and am kinda nervous. Just like I don't know what to expect. I know there is alot of shady people out there and am wondering what I should expect to see. I believe that it's a place for me but I'm not sure, you know? I have alot of spirtual agendas right now and I feel much spirtual prophecy thinking about this gathering. I'm sure it will inspire my music too. Just wondering what to expect, and the best things I could bring with me (food,tents,guitar,people,etc.)

 

You could bring me, since you're right next door! State-wise, that is.

I would love to go to something like this, too. I've never been to a camp-out before, and actually wouldn't know how to begin to go about planning for something like this. It would be such a great experience, though! I want to go...

Everything you just said, you will experience. Spirit, prophecy, inspiration, music. Yeh brother, you better be nervous.

Ginge could be your guide. If you have a vehicle, let her take you by the hand. Or you could lose your way.

 

Wish I had the resoucres to attend. Sounds like a good time.

 

I am going to make sure i'm there, and just soak it up man.

 

Bring youself your friends. Your Bliss wear some drums. A tent and other thinks you think you might need to camp. and whatever you can bring to help out in the 4ums kitchen movie.=) Hope to see lots of you there.

um they were a little wacked IMO

hey phamily,ive been a brother in the phamily for 10 peaceful,loving years,it's like leaving this world and completly intering another,no money is allowed in the church,everything is done barter style,also no alcohol,theres a special camp for that,allllllllllllllllllllllll the way out front,so there's no drunks to contend with.There are some sketchie people,which are known as drainbows,avoid these people,you'll know who they are,the ones with no weed or tradeables,tobacco,always begging,refusing to help them selves,anyway,you don't have to worry about food,theres kitchens set up all over the forest,if your hungry,go to a kitchen and they'll feed ya,but if you can try to help out one of the kitchens,haul water,wash dishes,etc,YOU will be rewarded when you are finished.Come prepared-tent,some warm clothes,your drum,and lots of tradeables,jewelery(hemp,beads,etc.)smokes(filters and reg. rolling tobacco)lighters,condoms,female hygene items,these are a few things that are valued at the gathering,and highly traded,but most of all come and be yourself,have a good time.You will hear all kind of stuff about the gatherings,some good,some bad,i say go and see for yourself,i promise you won't be dissipointed....luvin ya,rainbow doobie

I hope I can make it, it will depend on whether I can get that Saturday off.

And m6m, any idea whereabouts we'll be located? When we walk into the gathering should we turn left, right, straight? Or should we look for a sign you'll be posting?

 

Just wish I could go, but parents would never let me to go that. I would go though after I've moved out, and live on my own. I would form a band, and bring them along, and we'd set up a stage, equipment, and microphones, and have an open mic concert.

if anyone lives in michigan(or just about anywhere in the north), east of the mississippi, you should come pick me up. dont worry ill get gas money and bring supplies too. but if i cant go this year im definately going next year. or has it already happened? my computer wont load the website

 

Couldn't get that Saturday off from work, so I won't be at the Gathering. I was really looking forward to meeting you people too. Oh well, maybe next year.

i'd love to go. this will require some negotioating with mom, but i'm sure i'll be able to work something out. maybe even pick up a few persons on the way....
