Hey, I was planning on taking a trip to Ontario soon to do some hiking and general exploring. If anyone from that province has any ideas or tips, it would be greatly appreciated. We are crossing the border from our home state of Ohio at Pelee Island and will probably head to Toronto from there.

Algonquin park is the best thing not too far from Toronto. Many trails, and if you're willing to walk far enough from civilization, also really amazing nature.

Getting far from civilization is the idea. We plan to hike the Lake Erie Coastline to Niagara Falls and then on to Toronto...after that we planned on seeing some of Canada's wilderness. I read a little about the Trans Canada Trail, but the website was messed up and I only got the first page. I'd like to see what parts of Ontario it goes through. Also I was wanting to know if there were passenger trains in Canada. I'm not sure yet, but we could possibly head to Vancouver after exploring Ontario. I was also interested in maybe seeing some kind of concert or show while I was in Toronto. I probably won't actually get there until mid May, depending on how much time we spend in southern Ontario.

    Peace

The train trips to see Canada are great!! If you get to Toronto, like you plan, Algonquin is the best place to start your hiking. There are trains, buses and tour buses that go from Toronto to Algonquin Park.

Have a safe and glorious time...*smiles*
