My friend Tom and I decided we were gonna head up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire this weekend to hike Mount Washington which is the tallest mountain in the Northeastern U.S and known for having the worst weather in the world along with the worlds highest ever recorded windspeed. It's summit sits at 6288' above sea level and the hike up is scenic to say the least. Unfortuneatly the days leading up to the trip I was battling a nasty cold and on Friday night it migrated into my lungs. So Saturday morning I was wheezing heavily and having a hard time taking deep breaths. This lead to me becoming out of breath very easily. But I decided that since the weather was absolutely perfect for hiking I had to hike anyway. On to the pictures: The scenic views were all around, here is a little stream that ran no more than 100' from our campsite: Here's a shot Saturday morning just starting the hike. This is in front of the Crystal Cascade Waterfall. You can see I look like I've been hit by death and in no shape to hike ha ha: This is about 1.5 miles into the hike and we are starting to get our first views of the high country: Now we've reached the base of Tuckerman Ravine. This is where the hiking starts getting much more demanding:
Now we are up above the treeline, above the ravine shown in the last picture: The trail up to the summit: Ever have that feeling that you are on top of the freaking world? My buddy Tom chillen at Lions Head which is a super scenic spot on the mountain: And thats about it for the pictures, I took about 135 of them but those are the ones I like best.
Mount Washington in the Presidential Range of the White mountains in North East New Hampshire. If you google maps the town of Gorham, NH you can get a better sense of where it is
yeah mt. washington is the shit. what was the temperature up there? i've never hiked it. been up a few times in a car and once in the train that they have
Oh shit, we were gonna go there during break but we decided to go for a much smaller one and closer to home. Now I wish we had gone to that one. God I love New Hampshire!
It was below freezing at the campsite Sat Morning, because there was ice formed on things. By the time we got up the mountain which was early afternoon the temp up there had warmed to the upper 30's low 40's and the wind was relatively calm at 25mph. It was a perfect day for Mt Washington standards ha ha.
If I lived where you live.. there would never be a weed shortage in that state. perfect growing climate and environment from what I can tell. edit; nevermind, 30 degrees outside? damn thats cold..
these picture are amazing!!!! my favorite is that first one i like the contrast between the far away and close up (id say more technical things, but i havent taken any art classes) but for real some fucking sick shots!!
