Post some crazy thoughts you've had (if you can remember :p) while high.
One time I was sitting here and wasn't moving and thought "what if i'm paralyzed right now? what if when I try to move my leg, it doesnt work?" and then I sat there...still as a rock...just wondering. I freaked myself out and I was too scared to try to move because I thought I might not be able to. Fucking ganja paranoia

    Facts vs truth
    truth is subject to perception
    facts are what things ARE

She jumped off the bridge to kill herself.
(the bridge exists, built on a certain date of a certain height etc, she initiated a series of movements indicating that she jumped, but you cant prove that thats why she jumped off the bridge. was she trying to kill herself? was she escaping someone? was she trying to save someone? any might be true)

i didn't continue to think much past that. personal truths, proven facts.

hmm crazy high thoughts of mine.. i'll have to think about this one and come back. most are philosophical but i'll try to remember the lighter stuff. :)

can i recommend epistemology to you?
the problems of philosophy by bertrand russell is one place to start if you haven't already read it.
    :)

What happens to your brain when you die? If there's a specific physiological action that occurs at the time of death, we might be able to compare that to various drug-induced Near Death Experiences, as well as those that are not drug induced. It wouldn't give us any insight as to what happens after dying (or would it?), but it very well might give us an unprecedented amount of information on the experience of dying itself.

I once had a really bizarre thought about cells and the way they function as part of a larger organism. If they ever become separated from their host, they would die instantly, making knowledge of their host impossible to attain. I wonder if the same applies to humans or consciousness. We are all part of some unfathomable machine and any attempt to access a reference frame that allows us to view the machine in its entirety results in death. This was accompanied by an image of a human being crawling out of a glass sphere containing the earth, and then being cut in half by the sharpness of the glass.

    I like that.

My problem is most of the crazy thoughts I have I don't remember after I come down. But here's one I do remember:

"Why is it that something that does not exist not exist?"

a theme i've been having lately has to do with the biological world vs technology

it seems like today so much emphasis is put on how "cool" or "advanced" technology is, but it really absolutely isn't, not even a little bit. computers are coded with 0's and 1's... that's two parts... our genetics have FOUR. if those two numbers can make a device such as a computer, something that carries out the commands given by a user in the realm of what said device is programmed to do, what happens if you add an extra number (or variable). what limits does that extra variable have? does that added complexity give the device an awareness of itself (conscious), and if so, what does that mean for humanity? does the fourth variable that makes up our genetics give us the power to create, the power to generate our own thoughts? are our thoughts our own thoughts, or were they all fed to us by some other means like parents, media, society, etc, and then recompiled by us to make them "original"? i find it somewhat sad we KNOW what computers can do, using those two variables, yet we have little to absolutely no IDEA what our four variables can do, nevermind completely understanding them. i feel as though if any significant advances are going to made in technology (past the wowza of the newest mac device), humanity needs to stop trying to essentially replicate something that they have almost no deep understanding of. if we focused on everything that our bodies can do, endure, become, etc, how different would the world be? i have more thoughts on that specific issue, but i don't know how to say them, so i'll leave it with that.

another thing under that same umbrella came up last night. have you ever really thought of what a pregnancy is? and is it, or is it not, the biggest miracle known to man? from the start of what a child IS... some white goop containing massive amounts of genetic coding meeting with another sphere that contains the other half of said genetic coding... like what the FUCK. then that extremely small bundle of genetic coding grows... inside of another being nevertheless, to become a human, or any other creature. when you see a pregnant lady, do you really think about what is being harvested INSIDE her? bodies/the biological world as a whole are so fascinating, it's actually kind of scary

"computers. If you need a hard drive with an operating system to start one, how was the first operating system designed? How did they use less advanced operating systems to create more advanced ones? Did they just gradually build up? Or can you create software without an OS somehow?

This isn't as trippy as the rest because there is a definite answer.
