hi there just a moan really about having years of a battle about having the 3 kids veggie...its been hard to keep my temper.. we as a family are veggies.... well oldest chooses to eat what ever,} due to be living with husband soon...ie grown up...} but i have 2 other children one 13 one 4 not one friend is a veggie... and i feed all their friends they play here long hours, yet for the life of me they can not seem to understand that the quick veggie quorn pieces i may send over when my children go there.. to help are ok... not all i must admit seem to be scared my children are ill but alot view this practise of not eating any animal {sorry we drink milk and have cheese in} as bad.. not right for the child..for some sad reason i have had these things said to me.... i did hang out with all veggie friends but time changes paths, we all moved away from each other due to life paths. it makes me so upset any party the 4 year old is invited to may be at a damn hell fast food junk places. or a little voice is heard saying you must eat meat amber, these kids are only 4.. i understand the lack of knowledge , the way of meat 2 veg here in uk. but come on. when will this system be more open about eating beliefs... also what a pain to have to search for anything sweet wise when so many have crap in ...so this is another thing all the sweets i get given i tend to hide away and dish out friut....fruit and more fruit,, which can piss other parents off believe me.... i have never pushed the idea of a meat free diet but my god i have it pushed on me about eating meat.. strange world but i stand my ground.. thank you for the ear.. lovenpeace from saff.
maybe just try and set the example for them and then they have been shown that it is easy, possible and yummy and therefore will choose it for themselves at some point! at the same time make a point with the kiddies that come over to your place of feeding them super yummy vego snacks therefore converting all them as well! :H
I'm concerned about having to deal with this after my son is born and grows up enough to have friends and play-dates. I hope my friends respect my lifestyle; they seem to today, but who knows what will happen once there is a child involved.
I understand there are alot of crazy people in the world and they do not necessarily have to make sense... But can anyone explain why a caring parent, or any adult for that matter, would be bothered by kids eating fruit instead of candy? What sick freaks exist in this world? I wouldn't want my kids hanging out with their genetic pool anyways. p.s. I always get sick to my stomach when I see little kids eating fast food. Parents need to be held responsible for posioning their kids.
We get a lot shit for not feeding our kids meat. People think we are abusing them. It drives me nuts.
I have found that people ask me what my daughter eats because they know I am vegetarian. However as I don't enforce it onto her she is free to eat what she wants so long as I don't have to eat it and to be honest I don't even cook meat for her. I can't cook it as I have no idea when it is properly done and I figure that I cook pretty nice vego meals so she is doing fine with what I have nowdays. She is free to eat meat at restaurants and my family and friends houses but it is funny how so many people I know spin out that she actually chooses vegies...what do they expect silly billys!!
lol, people are just ignorant, dont take it to heart and always know youre doing what is right in your heart. The human body isnt even omnivorous in design. Why dont people learn a little about their own bodies before judging whats "normal" to eat and whats "abusive" to feed or not feed ones children. Dear dear
There are billions of dollars spend on advertising candy to kids specifically..literally. There is literally no money spent on marketing fruits and vegetables to kids...It's really important to not let your kids be too exposed to massively corrupt media that is trying to get into their heads and give them a horrible health start early in life. BTW - there is a free article in the free magazine on http://www.goveg.com about raising not just vegetarian but vegan kids!
thanks for great replies its a crazy world of profit before people but i have just met another veggie mum from school her little boy is so lovely and his little sister and wow he eats veg...... it is a hard battle even though meat is just one thiong given too the human race..so maybe its the world of food that needs to change. thank you again lovenpeace from saff
