I just want to say hi. Hi. Lol. This forum came as a recommendation from a wonderful friend. Someone who has helped me find myself again after a hard time. I’m 33 years old. I was raised in a very strict religious family. I was married at 18. Basically an arranged marriage to me fathers friends son. He was 30, and simply controlled everything in my life until I left him last winter. I just drove away after dinner and never went back. I drove across the country to the west coast and banged on the door of a childhood friend. I just stood there crying and she’s been the most amazing person I’ve known. I’m doing very well these days. I have my first job ever and am attempting to make lots of friends. I’m trying new things like going to concerts and camping. Life is good. My dear friend sent a link and said I should make an account and introduce myself. She’s told me that I’m very smart by naive. If she says I’ll benefit from socializing here, I believe her. So. Hi! My name is Dora . I’m 33. I work in a medical billing office. I like beer, music, dogs and mountains. Thanks so much for reading.
I grew up poor as a navy brat, in places like Spain, and when we flew into LA one night my first thought was "Who is paying that electric bill!" Welcome to the great big world! It has a lot to offer, just keep in mind that half of life is just showing up, and the other half is knowing what to studiously ignore!
Hi Dora Although I'm not a dog person, and our Mountains are not as big as those across the pond, one finds Beer and Music are always an enjoyable combination, for muse, melodic refreshment and rejuvenation of spirit - Welcome to Hip
Big welcome Dora. Enjoy the forum and Make plenty of friends here. Just joined few days ago as well. I am hoping this forum will make me better after a failing relationship and 2 kids and a lots of ups and downs I am 44 now and feeling much better now as we are not officially separated but we live apart and in different countries
Hi Dora I am glad you are better now. You still have all your life ahead of you and I am sure one day you will meet your Prince Charming and all the pain and suffering will be forgotten. What you did is very brave and you are a very courageous lady. What I learnt from my own experience is to take it one day at a time and Enjoy every moment. Never look back and question your decisions. What happened happened already and you are safe now. Enjoy life to its fullest
