......I Have An Addiction I Would Like To Share With You.......I'm Addicted To Birman Cats, I Just Got Home After Adopting Another 2, A 2 Year Old Red Point Girl, And A 4 Year Old Tortie Girl, Taking The Total Number Of Birmans Here To 5.... Fair Enough I Hear You Say I'm Sure You Can Deal With That OK GLEN, Buuuuut Here Comes The REAL PROBLEM, The Lady Used To Breed British Shorthairs And Want's To Re-Home About 10 Of Them. Beautiful Cats Of All Colours All With Full Pedigree Papers, FREE To A Good Home. I'm Fighting This With All My Strength But My Craving Is Getting Stronger By The Minute.... Do They Have A Rehab For "Cataholics"....??? Cheers Glen.
The Lady I Adopted Them From Was Amazing, This Morning She Made A Time For Me To Call, And When I Got There She Had Her Vet In Attendance To Give Them Their Shots, Flea Treatment, Worming, A Full Medical, And Washed Them... When I Showed An Expression Of Total Shock That She Had Paid For A Vet To Travel About 20km's She Said She Would Never Consider Re-Homing A Cat Unless It Was Fully Checked Out First.... Both Are Microchipped, With Full Papers. Truly Amazing Stuff.... Cheers Glen.
It is wonderful that you have done this, Glen! Without a doubt you would have room for more, plus you have knowledge of and experience with cats. What Aeri said...DO IT! This would be so fine...to give (even more) kitties a secure, loving forever home. The lady that has these cats sounds remarkable. Even the people that work in the pet stores around here don't seem as caring and concerned for the animals as she sounded. (That is the cutest emoticon I've seen that BBAD put up. )
Another Part Of Todays Excellent Adventure That I'm Sure All You Animal Lovers Out There Will Enjoy, After The Vet Left She Took Me Up To Where She Keeps The British Shorthairs, And Just As We Were Leaving She Wanted To Check Up On A Ewe Who Was Due To Give Birth, Sure Enough The Sheep Was Giving It Her Best Shot But Nothing Was Coming Out, So Ruth Rolled Up Her Sleeves And Went In Up To Her Elbow, And Discovered The Lamb Was A Breech Birth, So She Turned It Around And Out It Popped........Followed By Another...... ...And Another......TRIPLETS...:2thumbsup:. Within 5 Minutes One Of The Lambs Could Stand Up, Sure He Was A Bit Shakey, But What A Contrast To What A Human Can Do A Few Minutes After They Are Born. Over The Years I Have Had Many Sets Of Triplets Here, But Never Quads. Today I Was Secretly Hoping To See A Number 4 Emerge.... Cheers Glen.
Actually I Believe The Correct Term Is CCD *crazy cat dude* A Close Relation To A CCL *crazy cat lady*.... Cheers Glen.
Glen If anyone could take them on it would be you or my brother. I agree with Aeri. Go for it. :2thumbsup:
I Would Love To, But To Be Totally Honest , I Only Live In A Small Home And I Don't Think It Would Be Fair To My Original Cats Two Of Which Are 14. If I Did Adopt Them I Would Be Living With 16 Beautiful Cats, And I Don't Think Even GLEN Is Crazy Enough To Take On That Challenge. But Then I Cast My Mind Back 14 Years To When The Birman Cattery I Was Buying Kittens From Closed Down, And There Were Lots Of Cats Just Given Away Free, I Only Took One And Of Course Regretted Doing So For Many Years... Cheers Glen.
In The Time Since I Made This Thread I Have Decided To Adopt One Which Is One Of The Most Beautiful Cats I Have Ever Seen, He Is A Tri-Colour, And His Name Is "Patches", From The Moment He Met Me He Wanted Attention, A Fact That Ruth Commented On.... I'm Determined To Fight This Potential Addiction Overdose, But I'm Sure By This Time Tomorrow, One British Shorthair Will Have Multiplied Many Fold.... Cheers Glen.
