Hang around places like Arcata or Ft. Bragg or Ukiah for a few days, talk to people.
You should be able to pick up a lb. for about 1/3 of what it goes for to-day--say $800--$1,000 for kick-your-dick-in-the-dirt buds.

BE CAREFUL. There are crooks out here just like anywhere else.
I met a guy who came out here looking to buy some weed and had a thousand bucks on him.
He met 2 guys who said they had a lb. of KGB for sale. They arranged to meet at a remote location and they told him to come alone.
When he arrived 4 people jumped him, 1 guy hit him on the head with a gun and while he lay on the ground dazed they went through his pockets and took his cash.
So if your a rookie at buying large amt's:
-have a friend with you.
-meet at a semi-private location, like a motel room or behind a gas station.
-ask to see the weed first, and smoke a bowl. Legitimate dealers will have no problem with this.
If you've got a lot of time on your hands but no $$, come out here 09/15, hang out and let it be known that you're interested in a manicuring job. You'll make $10 cash or $20 bud/hr. Large growers will supply you with food (hope you like granola and kool-aid) and a place to put your sleeping bag and you'll work long hours (like 14 hours a day) for a week or 2. And many growers will pay a bonus if everything goes cool.
So let's say you work a week of 14-hour days. That's like $2,000.00 of weed for a weeks work.
Not too shabby.

You don't have to live on the free granola. If you wanna buy steak with your own money you're free to do so. And there's more than just granola. There's also beans, pasta, rice, inexpensive food. But hell's bell's it's FREE and no one's gonna force you to eat it.

It's not too difficult to hook on as a manicurist since a lot of grows up here are 100% legit.
In Humboldt and Medocino you can legally frow 100 plants at a time (w/ a Dr's recommendation, not to difficult to get).
Of course, if you're independantly wealthy like Jake07, if you think camping out in the redwoods with a bunch of hippie's next to a stream jumping with trout and making a thousand buck a week is "not worth it", then stay home and play video games and whine about the high cost of weed.

Think of getting work manicuring weed as being close to getting a job picking tomato's or lemons or any other part-time endeavor.

Agricultural products all, except of course manicuring weed pays a lot more.
Keep in mind several points:
Possession of marijuana is illegal in CA without a Dr's recommendation. I don't think that would apply to someone manicuring weed, but it certainly WOULD apply once you set a course for home with a backpack full when the jobs over.
To do so legally you would need a Dr's recommendation, which as I said before isn't too hard. Marijuana adressing many common ailments such as occasional insomnia or relieving stress. But it costs between $150--$200 for the Dr's appt. and paperwork.
Also keep in mind that if you don't live in CA, that recommendation ain't gonna help in other states which DON'T have med-MJ. It may or may not help in states which do reconginize the medicinal benefits of cannibus, I really don't know.

If you're 15, you should be in school in Sept., not manicuring weed. Anyone who employ's a minor under those conditions is nuts.

I can't guarantee you'll get a job manicuring. People with experience of course get hired 1st, and there are usually more people looking for that kind of work than they are jobs available.
Manicuring for outdoor crops takes place from mid-Sept. to late Oct. There are a lot of indoor grow ops where the growers might need someone at any time of the year. There are a number of experienced people who make a living manicuring. If they do a bang-up job they get recommended to other growers and they just travel up and down the coast wherever there's work.

Manicuring isn't physically taxing like lets say auto dismanteling, but it IS boring and tedious. Sitting at a table for let's say 13 hours a day can wear you down. Plus you're inside all that time.
But there's music (or bring your i-pod) and refreshments during work, and 3 meals/day.
And a few hours per day free time, to hike, play guitar & sing around a campfire, fish, fuck (if you can find a partner), etc.

I'm not recommending that you come out here to manicure. I'm just providing information.

Are you sure that posting this info on this forum is the smartest thing to do? I reallize that the laws are really lax where you live (you lucky bastard ) but there is a change that some good people could end up getting busted because LEO reads this and decides that they want to make a bust so they can get some shiney new police cars. That being said, if i can ever make it up to that area then count me in, my job is tedious anyway.

In CA it's LEGAL to grow, harvest, manicure possess and smoke MJ if you have a script. In Medocino County all that's LEGAL (not techniqually legal but they don't bust you) and you don't even need a note from the Dr.
