Hey everyone, I'm (obviously) new here. I spent a little while just kinda creeping and looking around before I actually joined. But anyway, I'm Kerry/Kay/Whatever you want to call me and I never know what to put in these 'introduce yourself' type things...so, yeah. Whatever you want to know, just ask and I'll more than likely answer, I'm pretty open about everything. Don't judge me and I won't judge you. :2thumbsup:
Hello to ya Kerry...Kay...Whatever! (Ha ha!) Welcome to HIP! I hope you love this place! (I know you will soon enough!) As for New Hampshire, I usually pass through en route to Maine (lived there twice in my past). My last trip TO there was an overnight trip for the AHL Monarchs hockey team in January. I visited the capitol in Concord the next afternoon and then went down to Boston and the TD Garden.
Thanks everyone for the welcoming words BeachBall, that is a very good question, I'm not sure...though either way I love your signature! KL71, so far I love it already! New Hampshire is, well, New Hampshire, I love it here, but I may be biased xD green83, I am having a wonderful day, thank you.
Ooh a fellow New Englander... welcome, I've been a sporadic member for about five years, it's an interesting community... I spend most of my time in the chat room so if you're ever over there look for me
Hi there! Did you get hit with any snow today? I know a good chunk of Maine had some today. Close to an inch of rain here and a gusty north wind. I hope your holiday is good to you at least!
Wheels: Yup, I love it here so far [and I love New England so much!] doobledore: a) I love your name, b) you as well KL71: Thankfully we missed the snow. Turkey Bowl tomorrow (I'm in the marching band, colorguard), so I'm glad the snow decided not to visit so far. And have a happy holiday as well!
Have fun at the game! Can't say I've ever been into high school football much, though. The New Britain Golden Hurricanes have a game in the wind and cold this evening against Berlin (which borders us on the south). It's played in a stadium next door to the New Britain Rock Cats (same baseball league as the New Hampshire Fishercats). As for snow, our snow was with that freak wet snow event on October 29th. Lastly, despite the closeness, I don't see getting to New Hampshire anytime soon.
I shall try! But no promises...cold weather and obnoxious teenage girls aren't always conducive to having fun. Ah, yeah the Halloween storm, we got that one too. No power for five days, I had way too much fun with candles and kerosene lamps Ah, but New Hampshire is so much fun! (well, sometimes it is...)
Yes, and the head of Connecticut Light & Power resigned last week. We had a record for power outages, even more than what Irene gave us in August. My sister was out for 6 1/2 days with the snow storm. No heat or hot water. She briefly had some stuff with a generator on loan from her sister-in-law. As for what you went through in NH with PSNH, people here said CL&P stood for "Candle Light and Propane". OUCH! I usually pass through your state on I-95 and breeze through Hampton's EZ-Pass lane (sweet!). I stopped by the capitol building in January. Me, my twin and our friend saw hockey in Manchester the night before. I sometimes walk into Chesterfield if visiting Brattleboro, VT (walk over the Connecticut River). The one place I'd like to forget in NH is Wolfeboro. I was there with a friend once in 1997. He was swapping a car with an auto dealer in the area then. Problem was, our trip was in the early stage of a Nor'Easter. We ended up stuck in Marlborough, MA that night off of I-495 against our will.
KL71: Oh, ouch. We were without power for 5 days, but at least we had bought a generator after the ice storm a few years back, so we were able to put that on for our sub-pump and our refrigerator every now and then, so it was not nearly as bad as it could've been. Nor'easters are never fun to get caught in. But I dislike the crowds right before a predicted Nor'easter even more, people don't tend to be all that nice when they're trying to get the last snow blower or anything of the sort. Roamy: Thanks very much!
