Hey...how is Massachusetts for you? I'm in central Connecticut and wanted to say hello. Was in the Bay State last week on my way to Portland, ME. Does that count for something?
hey KL71, Mass is treating me fine thanks! And I always count driving through as visiting Did you get to drive through boston? And what do you do in maine when you visit, ive always wanted to visit there and get some of their lobster!
I was in Portland for a short time to be exact. Yes, I was in Boston for a time too. As for Maine itself, I've lived there twice: Wells (1974-1977) and Old Orchard Beach (1985-1987). The latter is a resort town. Add winter to that and it's a mistake. Yeah, all it is up there is pine trees, beaches and lobsters. Visiting is one thing. However, I wouldn't live up there again. I'm a native of Connecticut. As for Massachusetts, I also passed through it along I-91 heading to Vermont some time back.
Ah yes! The drastic New England weather, gotta love that part of living here Ive heard that from a few people, that its hard to move to maine. Did you find that its a slower paced life style than that of conneticut?
Definitely. Too slow for me. Once you're past Portland, forget it. Then it was always Red Sox-this and Patriots-that. Enough! Here, I'm halfway between NYC and Boston AND Portland and Philadelphia. Sweet!
Hya from one newbie to another *shakes hand* where are you from? if you don't mind me asking (don't worry i'm not a stalker)
ah, yeah, there really is no mercy for a yankees fan once you hit the new england area and up! Thats the #1 joke around here haha, but some people take it way too far I must say. And yes! Now you are smack dab in the middle of all that is great up here One minute you're eating philly cheese steak and the next, NYC corndogs, awesome!
hello closetgay! I gladly accept the shake and don't mind the asking. I'm from mass, the cape area. Ever been? Where are you from?
I've never been on the Cape. The closest would be Dartmouth near Fall River (in 1990). The same would go for those areas like Fitchburg, Orange and Athol. I've done the entire Massahcusetts Turnpike except for the piece between I-93 and the west portal of the Ted Williams Tunnel. Clinched all of I-91 a long time ago. Been to Worcester several times, but not lately outside of heading to/from Boston. As for the Red Sox? Yes...I give Fenway Park a dirty look every time I ride past it (Yankees fan since 1981). So anyways, I'm 38 and have no children. Boring, huh? :O
the cape is good for the summer, it can get pretty packed but its nice for the ocean, icecream, and art Don't really drive the turnpike, my dad absolutley loves the Ted Williams tunnel though, says its a dream that they put it in because it was a pain in the ass always having to drive through the city. For all the money that went into it though, it should have been made better. But yeah, Worcester ain't bad, I travel there by train to see a few friends who go to school there. Haha its to be expected that you'd give a dirty look. I'm not way gung ho into following the sports but the rest of my family follows the red sox religiously, I sit in to watch a few games now and then though. Its not boring that you dont have children, you must get to travel around a lot! and haha I am 19 and also do not have children!
