If he's telling you to close your eyes, he's probably looking at something else while having sex and doesn't want you to see what he's looking at, like a picture or something, something else that's arousing him.
Figure out why being told close your eyes is hurting you. Can't apporach the issue until you know why it bothers you. Closing eyes can mean a ton of things- from stop staring to relax and let go.
