so does this "allele" exist in any female brains??

perhaps this gene hasn't de-evolved or disappeared over time, indicating monogamy is more recent than we thought...and wasn't always natural for us in the first place...

i don't know those are just a few thoughts to ponder

well, it appears that the hormone regulated by that allele has a much smaller effect on women's brains than it does men's.

still, just because you're an alcoholic doesn't mean you have a right to trash your marriage and family for your addiction. just a thought.

also, should a man disclose if he has this allele? should a man enter into a marriage or relationship knowing he has it? should he enter gene therapy? WOULD HE? haha. the problems with finding a thing like this are always funny to me.

I can just see it.. dating of the future involving DNA samples and gene testing.

Psh why do people even look for stuff like this?! When are people gonna start taking responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming their genes.

I mean, are you implying that all men will go and find out whether they have this allele? I guess before I ask that I should inquire into the cost and time required to do the tests to determine whether a man has this allele or not, in order to determine how realistic this will be in the future.

I don't think people should look into this in terms of themselves in all honesty. It's an interesting find, but gives cheating men more legitimacy. I would never want to be cheated on, especially when married...that would be an awful realization and such a difficult thing to cope with, but at the same time...I say lets go el natural...let life go on its course...

and yeah, even if you have that allele, control you desires and urges! I mean if you need to fuck another chick, at least end things with me first ya know?

i dunno, man. sometimes what scientists spend their time and funding on boggles my mind. then it becomes this huge "social discussion." pfft. we already know people cheat.

i guess it'll be just like the fat gene. STILL a matter of personal responsibility.

I don't think so, let's not judge the fruit by the tree where it came from, so to speak. The urge to look the other way will always be there, but a person has the choice to decide what to do with those feelings.
