Hey everyone! I'm a homosexual male and it seems to run rampant in my family. I am doing a research paper for a college english class and decided I want to research hereditary homosexuality. I have found some websites on this but I am wondering if anyone can tell me about some books I can read on the subject. I would be uber grateful. Thanks, Justin

Allow me to provide a link: http://nbtsc.org/~ftmichael/trans101.html Somewhere on that page, there is information concerning possible causes for transsexuality and transgenderism; the same is thought to apply to homosexuality. The key of speculation here is the amount of hormones a fetus receives while in the womb. Male to female transsexuality is thought to be the result of in an insufficient amount of androgens (testosterone) being provided to masculinize the brain. However, when there is a sufficient amount to fully masculinize the brain, there may not be enough to cause "normal" sexual orientation alignment. The same is thought to apply to female to male transsexuals as well as lesbians. What this would indicate is that it is impossible to truly prevent either transsexuality/transgenderism or homosexuality as it forms due to our environment before we are even born.
I know a pair of gay twins - they're fraternal. I don't know if that helps, but I thought it was kinda interesting
A couple of weeks ago Larry King had the actress who played the transsexual in Transamerica; following her, were several trans people. A professional racer who was a transwoman, the writer of She's Not There (a transwoman who is an English professor), TJ from Trans Generation, a psychologist, and, most interesting of all, a pair of identical twins. Both were born as women, yet one of them turned out to be a transman. That's right, one's gender was that of her biological sex, and the other was crossgendered. This provides a huge counterpoint to the heredity theory...
