My wife pearl does the butterfly gardens, but tell she can answer you heres a link http://www.thebutterflysite.com/gardening.shtml allso we use the butterfly houses they sometimes work.we have them both at our home and at the farm.pearl will get back to you on this,we should make a page for the site on butterfly gardens. peace
Here's a list of plants that attract butterflies. A few of these can fit into a small area. Also for the butterfly houses woodenfrog mentioned, place milkweed inside. It encourages them to live in there. Butterfly garden plants... Joe-Pye Weed Coreopsis Salvia Aster Black-eyed Susan Butterfly Weed Day Lilies Goldenrod Hibiscus Lavender Marigold Lilac Butterfly Bush Oxeye Daisies Purple Coneflower Pink Azalea Rosemary Verbena Redbud -Pearl
thanks so much sister pearl! i've already got a few of these around, like jo pye, day lilies, lavender, coneflowers & black-eyed susans, rosemary, & some salvias last year i also planted extra parsley & left some unharvested just especially for the caterpillars to munch on i will look out for some buttefly houses too
