I like him, he's neat....what do you think about him? His music really mellows people out, me too. He seems more the private one out of the 27 club. But I found a bio on him at Hastings and it twas written by some old lady who used the coolest font for the book.
I don't like people mentioning the 27 club... it's not something to admire or be proud of. I believe he's the greatest guitarist to ever live... he wasn't human I haven't listened to him in ages, but he's the person who got me to pick up a guitar.
yeah he got me to pick up guitar too. i'm listening to hip right now actually. his blues album, it's fucking awesome! his playing is just unreal, nobody was, is, or ever will be like him on guitar.
i was just listening to him awhile ago. i love him so f'n much, but my mom can't stand him so i can't crank up my music too much or she gets pissed, which completely sucks. but my dad thinks he's groovy, so i can listen to him when i'm around my dad. lol. yeah. but he's really f'n great, man. peace
I love the man to bits! Hes such a cool dude and is a fucking legendary guitarist! Some of the live stuff i have is incredible!! An utter god. peace and love xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I love him, he is one of the best guitarists of all time, along with jimmy. His music is unbelieveable, when you actually sit down and listen to the technicalities of his solos. It's just, wow.
Hendrix is cool- BUt the other night on VH-1 I saw their lousy version of his biopic! -"Hendrix." It was funny and lousy simultaneously. The actor who played him was a D-list celebrity who couldn't act and had the worse Hendrix/northwestern U.S. accent I have ever heard! He didn't even look like Jimi!!! The movie was a disappointment but Hendrix isn't by a long shot!
Whats the album title? Jimi is like no other to ever walk this earth. He was on another level. Jimi Hendrix and The Experience are one of my favourite bands of all time.
The title of the album is "Blues" or ";Blues" Im not sure. I dont think it really matters. Its so much fun listening the the Born Under A Bad Sign on there and then listening to Creams cover and then listening to the original. King's is the best.. exept for mine & my friends cover.
Perhaps if you really enjoyed their music, and weren't going along with the classic rock fad, you'd know that Jimmy was nowhere near Hendrix, and nowhere near the top of the list for the greatest guitarists of all-time, for that matter...
The Cry of Love and Crash Landing are his two most bluesy original releases.. although they were both posthumous I don't know much about the stuff that his dad (re)released. His cover of "Sunshine Of Your Love" is just fucking amazing... that's by far one of the greatest guitar performances of all-time, if not the greatest...
his music doesn't really mellow me out, it pumps me up, and fills me with energy. I got a little carried away at school one time and started thrashing back and forth in my chair when listening to my headphones. But when it's Jimi, you don't mind causing a scene. And of course, he's like Jesus on guitar-to me, atleast
Hendrix is my all-time favorite guitarist. IMO he blows Clapton, Page, Duane Allman, any other guitarist out of the water. And that's saying alot, because all of those guitarists are extremely talented. But Hendrix is on another level altogether. "Machine Gun" is an hallmark of what the electric guitar is capable of. Never has anyone been able to replicate such mind-blowing analog sound and still be able to sing while creating such precise sounds. Truly a brilliant performance.
Not saying Jimmy Page is bad or anything, but the main key to his playing were the PAFs... in his '59 Les Paul. Though 90 percent of tone is in the hands, though... Hendrix - he's one of a bunch of guitarists that made and changed history. I can't say he's the best, then again, there is no best... they all have a personality.
Yes it is. I love how Jimi "controls" his feedback.(ex. Like at the beginning of Foxey Lady) LizardQueen, your sig is so cool.
