At what point in a relationship is it necessary to have the "Let's not date (or, in my case, let's date) other people?

I've been very casually seeing this guy, we've hung out like 4 times, and last night we slept together. He's a great guy, and I like him, but I want to leave my options open.

So my question is, since we slept together, should I initiate this conversation, or should I maybe wait a while, see what he does?

I just feel like if I don't do something in the right time frame, then he may be thinking we're exclusive, and if I were to date another guy I'd be this horrible cheating bitch.

    what do you think folks?

I would say ASAP! Have a talk. But try to segue into it, because it is sort of a slap in the face when a lover casually informs you that he or she is going to go sleep with someone else ...

Say, "Does this mean that we are exclusive? How would you feel if we were to see/date/sleep with other people?" etc. The syntax is your prerogative, but please do it as soon as you can. :)

    Good luck!

that's what I was leaning toward, but I didn't want to jump the gun, thanks for the input!

I think I'm gonna end up ending it all together, he did something really shitty and I think it's kind of a deal breaker. There are no genuinly nice men out there *le sigh*
