Hey all. I'm freaking out a lil cuz I'm bleeding And my period ended a week & 1/2 ago. I'm on orthotricyclen. Right now, I just started the light blue pills. Last night I was out & saw that I was bleeding. It stopped, but now I'm bleeding a lil again. Has this ever happened to any of you? I think this might've happened once a long time ago to me, but I took a test & everything & was fine. So....what's going on?
Are the light blue pills the inactive ones? If so, then your period is starting. Also, if you don't take the pill at the exact time EVERY day, your body will think it needs to start the period. Ex. If you normally take the pill at 8am every morning, then one day you forget to take it until noon, your period may start until the hormones get back in your body. Or, you may need a stronger dose. I had the exact same problem, only worse. I was getting my period for two weeks every three weeks. It sucked!! I got on a higher dosage of hormones, and it straightened out. If that is the case with you, you need to see your gyno to get a diff. brand.
Vixen, a lot of things can cause bleeding. Stress, diet, having the wrong amt of hormones like sugrmag said... even something like a tiny tiny infection can knock everything off balance. The female reproductive system is strong like a bull, but fragile like a teacup... very, very ironic.
Hey, thanks for replying. The light blue ones are into the 2nd week of the month. The green ones are the ones you usually get your period on. One of my friends actually was on the pill and still got her period twice a month regardless of the pills. Hope that doesn't happen to me! I'm still bleeding though; it comes and goes throughout the day.
I've heard quite a few stories of small breakthrough bleeding while on the pill.... you might wanna talk to your doc about switching to a different pill (I used to be on orthotricyclen, but the only prob I really had with it was many many yeast infections)
I finally stopped bleeding!!! I didn't wake up bleeding this morning so, I'm happy. I think I'm gonna call my gyno to see if I need my pills switched.
I bled for four months on depo...bla some say it should pass but Im not sure everyones body is different
How long have you been on it? I've been on the pill for a couple of months and to start with I noticed a bit of bleeding. Nothing bad, it's just your body getting used to hormones.
Hey all. Well, I went to my endocrinologist the other day & he told me to call my gyno about it. I called today & they switched my pill. I'm now going to be on Yasmin? I think that's what it's called. Any of you on that? My doc said that the hormones were too low for me.
Hi. I've been on several different kinds of pills. I went to a clinic and had a great nurse who loves to keep women really informed. Apparently, "breakthrough bleeding" is quite common when you first start a new brand of pills. It takes a couple of months for your body to regulate and get used to it. I "spot" when i first start taking a new brand. She also said that most women should try several different brands to see which one works best for them. They can help you out a lot but every body is different so some of it is left to trial and error. Keep track of it though and make sure your doc is informed. I'm on Alesse and it seems to be the mildest form here. Most of the girls I've talked to use this one without problems. Do try to find the one that works the best for you. It's not normal to feel crampy/bloody/bloated/depressed/tired. Good luck
I don't know what it's like over there, but in order for the clinics and doctors to get off their asses and help out they ask for lots of tiny details, like time of day and which day a month etc.. so if it's gonna be anything like that over there, make sure you write down what happened over the day, and date it with the day of your cycle and actual date, every day.. I do it when I take my pill now so that I remember to do both. I have to present my gyno with 6 months of evidence before he'll consider what I have to say and steps to take, it's so ridiculous!! Hope this helps.
