so i just moved to a new town. i met some cool kids, and i have finally found a way to get quality stuff without having to rely on my super cool cousins and brother. the problem is, these kids have a completely differnt slang and everything. back where i lived, we just used "dime" "twomp" and "half." a dime was half a twomp, and half was 2 twomps.. and so on. but these kids, they talk in ounces and quarters and shit. i dont know what they're talking about half the time! since i'm a new kid and everything, i think its important to look like i at least halfway know what i'm doing when i talk to them about making a deal. and i dont wanna get gyped cuz they can tell i dont know what anything is. is there a cheat sheet? or would sumone be willing to give me like a list of translations or something? im so confused!

 

An eighth is 3.5 grams.
A quarter is 7 grams.
A half is 14 grams.
An ounce is 28 grams.
Not too difficult.

still, it sounds like perhaps a twomp is a quarter, but a quarter of something smaller than an ounce, perhaps?

anyway, i thought grams were pretty universal. use american weights like ounces and pounds for large volumes, and the metric system for really large volumes (kilograms), and for amounts smaller than an ounce go back to the metric system and use grams.

the most common amounts for pot to be sold in are 1/8 of an ounce, 1/4 of an ounce, 1/2 ounce, ounce. an ounce is roughly 28.3g but people usually round down to 28g. from there you can figure out how much is in a bag of a various amount, for example 1/8 of 28 is 3.5, so an eighth has 3.5g in it.

these are pretty much universal standards of measure for the north american cannabis market, but some dealers and areas, for whatever reasons, operate on somewhat different weights. there are people that sell 3g as an eighth, and people who make a standard practice of selling 4g "eighths" as well. i expected it to be all metric in canada, but when i bought some pot in ontario they were still talking in terms of fractions of ounces.

it just pretty much makes things easier for the distribution of the product if the entire market is working on the same, or similar, terminology and standards of weights.

 

dime = gram

dub= two grams

eigth = 3.5 grams

quarter= 7

half = 14.25

ounce = 28.5

now get yourself a digital scale

Where I come from, a bag is a "bop".
A dime bag is a "wop bo.
A 20 is a "loo bop".
And an entire oz. is "a bang boom"
If you get one of each it's called

Just ask your new connections what these new (to you) words mean. "I'm new to town and where I come from this is called....." is honest and they will be interested in your (new to them, old to you) slang.

Damn, prices are high as hell where you live... I can get some mids 5 dollars a gram. But, I usally buy fat sacks so I get hooked up. I can get krip for the prices you listed.

if in doubt just ask for it in a dollar amount. In fact the first little while buying from my current guy I wasn't to ask in grams only in dollars. At this point he'll haggle on an ounce and we'll have a chat while he's weighing my bag. the real trick is to get to know your dealer. it takes time but it's worth it. and since then there has never ever been a "dry" period either.

yeah if i wanted shwag i could get that cheap but 20/g is obviously good nugget. And i never buy cheap shit, unless i want heroin laced on my weed which is what shwag dealers do.
