Hahaha pastries intimidate me. I've been meaning do dabble into it though. MMmmmmmm pastries. I like baking bread and muffins a lot. Tonight is brussel sprout, turnip and quinoa casserole. Yum!
But patisserie involves such precision ... and I was getting the impression that that was your thing :mickey: Me ... I'm a hale and hearty country kitchen type. I delight in making stocks and sauces, jams and jellies, and good honest casseroles, stews and soups. If I'm feeling a bit cheffy, then I might make something like a poached salmon fillet on a potato and shallot rosti with a citrus beurre blanc sauce; or a rack of lamb with a red wine reduction jus and mustard mashed potatoes. Mind you, when I'm feeling cheffy, I make sure that K will do the washing up for me ... :daisy:
Oh I like all the cooking. I can be precise, but most of the time I like to have a carefree approach to all things especially cooking. It's the necessary precision that intimidates me. Sure, I'm confident that I would be able to knock out some excellent pastries with my scientific flair, but, I love pasties oh so much and don't want to disappoint myself, I guess. Rest assured I'll muster up the desire, focus, and confidence and conjure up some pastry glory one of these days.
