my name is danny, im 20 years old and i have been reading through this forum for about a month now, and I just registered today. I started my dreads about a month and a half ago, with little backcombing, no wax or chemicals, just washing with herbal cleanse shampoo every so often. Its hard because I work at a valvoline car place which is a very dirty environment. I sleep with a beanie on, and rub my hair in circles very gently. I have pretty thick hair, and my dreads are pretty thin so Im guessing im going to have ALOT of dreads, it still needs to dread around my ears, and in parts of the back of my head.
    peace

My hubby works in a dirty enviroment most days too. He just covers his dreads with bandanas. It used to only take one to do it, but now we have to get creative with 2 or 3 of them. This spring was intense 'cause he had to re-finish a pool at work, using latex. That stuff would be stuck in his dreads forever, so we made sure to wrap them up tight.
