Hey guys. Thought I'd introduce myself since I've immediately fallen in love with these forums. My name is Omar, I'm 19 years old. Lived in Michigan for 15 years until I moved down to Florida. I was introduced to the "hippy" scene through Bearcreek 2008 last year and it completely changed my life (Just got back from Bearcreek 09!). I'm now an avid festival-goer and general supporter of good vibes and positive energy. I'm about to start learning guitar and plan on learning other instruments so I can hopefully one day jam on a festival stage myself. When I'm not developing my spirituality, I'm going to school at State College of Florida and detailing cars at a nearby bodyshop. Oh, and I'm very infatuated with psychadellics and their ability to balance life energy and influence positive vibes in your life. The most beautiful moments of my life so far have been spiritual epiphanies on caps or cid. I also dabble a bit with DMT (Haven't had luck with a steady connect). If anyone would like to discuss any of these things I'm always anxious to talk in private! Nice to meet everyone here!
hey bumpinreel, welcome. I used to work for a company that had a shp there so i used to come down twice a year. i would stay either on longboat key or lido beach. it was really great.
Thanks man, its a really nice area, I feel bad living here because it spoils me. I don't appreciate one of the top 5 rated beaches in the country (Siesta Key) because its only a 15 minute drive. But its definitely a great area. Best thing is is I'm no more than a 90 minute drive from a lot of popular tour stops for a lot of my favorite bands like perpetual groove, pnuma trio, the malah, toubab krewe, etc. so thats a big plus for me.
Sure do! I definitely don't miss the weather but I really miss a lot my friends from Michigan. Those are the only people I will ever be able to say "I grew up with" so I always miss those memories. But I honestly was going down a really bad road in Michigan by the time I was 15 so moving to Florida literally saved my life. I was being a dumb kid in Michigan and something about the move made me grow up a lot in a short time and change a lot of my negative habbits. So I miss my old friends but I'm glad I got out when I did.
