Anyone else totally dig this flick? seriously, you don't even know. I can't get the song origin of love out of my head. the plot for this is so amazing..like, who thinks of that? he does a good job writing a good job singing and a good job acting. ten outta ten
The movie is amazing...but NOTHING compared to the live show. Fantastic. Orgasmic. You get to experience her life as she tells you. AHHHH. You have to see it! Your jaw will not be revived from the "dropped" position for approximately 2 hours.
i used to have it on video...but i lent it to my then girlfriend...and then we broke up and i haven't seen it since... origin of love still makes me cry...
I actually own this on vhs. It was ok, not really one of my favorites, some of the songs were pretty good though.
I just caught it on IFC Monday night and it wasn't bad. Kind of depressing to be honest. Michael Pitt was gorgeous and Tommy Gnosis.
I saw a scene a few months ago, but got rid of my digital cable soon after, so I never got to see the whole movie. I was determined to see it the other day ago, but the movie rental establishment didn't have it so I had to buy it. I was fine with that, though, I knew I would love it.
love it love it love it love it!!!!! ::bREAKS OUT INTO SONG:: And then fire shot down from the sky in bolts like shining blades from a knife and it ripped right through the flesh of the children of the sun and the moon and the earth and the siris DID YOU JUST SING THE SIRIS!!! ::SMACK::
I love this movie so damn much. Hedwig is my dream role. (True, I am a girl, but really, Hedwig transcends gender lines. Isn't that one of the points?) If you like origin of love (and how can you not) you might wanna read what it's based on, Plato's Symposium. My favourite song is Midnight Radio, and Wicked Little Town. (Both versions!) That movie is gorgeous. Perfect! Fabulous! A treat for the eyes ears and soul! Etc.! Lindiglo
there is another obscure title out there called "benjamin smoke" which is a real life slice of the same pie as "hedwig" ....music is better, too. unfortunately only available in artsy kind of vid-stores
