Just wondering if anybody has some tips on keeping growrooms cool without AC. Here in the UK it is over 90 degrees and set to get hotter later in the week. I have two extractor fans going one the size of an aero plane propeller. But when the air coming in is 90 plus it dosn't solve the problem. Theres also an oscillating fan going. As I have ten days veg left theres no cooling off. With the door wide open its about 92 degrees in the room. I can get away with this but not as it gets hotter later in the week. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Outdoor plants love it.
Too humid for an evap. cooler I suppose. I wouldn't worry about it, Why you ask? I was rereading Ed t'other day and he says mj will grow in temps from just above frost to 125F.
Its strange in all the grow guides it says keep temps around 75 degrees but personally I find it grows a lot faster around 85 to 90 degrees. The room is only about 15% RH. Not enough room though for a AC unit. The only reason I ask is that when its to hot I have to move the light further away. A good rule of thumb is my cat. If its to hot she keeps away but if its comfortable she basks under the light. She tried to shit in one of the plant pots yesterday so she is banned for a while.
man i can't even cool myself down inn this blaze. it's miserable humid sticky heat that needs to fuck off - got a bit of thunder last night though. hope there's more where that came from.
Geez its crazy that its hot over in england too, the united states has been having record highs all over! it was up to 105 the other day here, a record! and so far we have broken a few records for individual days.
yes this uk heatwave has hit me hard. ive had to leave my two girls for a few days and ive come back and thier like straw. 3-ish weeks into flower, the small starter buds just crumble in my hands. im a bit pissed off. can i run a 250w bulb in a 400w ballast?, im thinking less heat
[ can i run a 250w bulb in a 400w ballast?, im thinking less heat[/QUOTE] No you can't but if you disconnect you reflector from the ballast you can use a 200W envirolight bulb. See this site for info. [ http://www.theonlineelectricalwholesaler.com/catalog/products.php?cpath=88_254_256
Think the answer to the heat problem may lie with an air cooled reflector. :- http://www.theonlineelectricalwholesaler.com/catalog/add_to_cart.php?cpath=88_268&pid=310
Plants do grow faster when the temps go up, but it isn't a good growth. It is a stressed growth. When they stretch that fast the stems tend to be weak and can;t handle the buds. Also the nodes are farther apart so the buds don't always run together like they should.
Yeah but! It's only one grow per year, if it's timed right, so is it worth spending bookoo bucks on equipment and elctricity to run it? It's an individual choise. Peace!
