Hi, I'm new here, and I have a question. My sister wants me to try smoking weed for the first time in a couple days. It's not a peer presssure situation or anything, I've been curious about weed and psychedelics for a while. I was just wondering if it was possible that smoking weed could give me a heart attack??? I'm 20 years old and overweight (about 345), but I work out every day though. I do have sleep apnea. In the case that it could trigger a heart attack, would there be less of a chance of one if I had the weed baked in something rather than smoking it directly?
No, even being overweight you'd need to either have a serious underlying condition to cause a heart attack. Weed does raise your pulse but not substantially.
I am sure you will be fine, my heart tends to race when I smoke, what you need to do if that happeneds, is slow it down, take deep breaths and drink some water. you will be fine, just try and enjoy it, it being your first time you might not even get high
i'd worry more about being 345lbs causing a heart attack than marijuana having anything to do with it..
i think thats the point. most 20 year olds are not that heavy, so most of the age range data wont match up with his data. smoking may give you a harder time due to munchies though. You and only you have the power to choose what goes into your body. if you are going to smoke keep lots of veggies and fruits around so that enjoying your smoke doesnt exacerbate the other issues. i dont think it would give you a heart attack to smoke, but you have to learn to tell yourself that "its just the munchies, im not really hungry" otherwise you could munch yourself into an early heart attack. i dont mean to make you uncomfortable or anything, the overweight/obese/self image/ health cards are stacked against the young today, i got lucky and was medium-poor, but my dad was a chef, so the food was good, and cheap and healthful. and then i got a thyroid disorder. so, yeah. but i guess i just want everyone to be happy and healthy. the best thing you can do is make food, from scratch, in your own home. i have some cinnamon raisin bread planned for later, as a matter of fact. i feel like its too yummy to forgo, but too expensive to buy in the store. this message can be fully disregarded without insult, but i have too much love to keep my mouth shut.
hahah for real being 345 lbs with sleep apnea.. no offense dude but you have a greater chance dying going for a walk than taking a few hits
he obviously is aware of the health issues associated with being overweight. try to be supportive, or at least human. at least hes checking to see if his weight factors into the risk when trying a new substance.
unfortunately his weight will factor into anything he does... I'm no small boy here.. but i know the effects of being over weight as well... @OP.. if you are gonna smoke weed.. i would find better ways to ingest it.. than smoking it.. though marijuana is "harmless"... inhaling combusted plant material is not good for the lungs.. one less thing that you should have to worry about if you can get around the whole inhaling smoke thing.. also marijuana made into edibles can be a good idea.. and you can get creative and create healthy snacks that are filled with marijuana goodness
No you won't get a heart attack, at the worst I think it may make you anxious and at your weight you will probably sweat alot and get a shortness of breath. I suggest smoking it as its more economical and hits you quicker. Edibles can be really intense and not something I would recommend for the first time. occasionally people won't get high the first time regardless if they smoke it or eat it, But if you smoke the pot it should last a couple of sessions if it is the same dose as a good edible.
Yeah I wanted to maybe cook somethin with weed in it rather than smoke it, but I can't really cook it at home cause my parents are there all day, and are very against drugs (specially with my sister being in rehab like 2 times), and I don't have much friends where I can just go over to there house whenever and cook. I've been overweight pretty much my whole life (not like I overloaded on fast food or whatever). My parents said it started when I was like 6 months to a year old. But yeah I work out at the local YMCA 5 days out of the week, swimming and weight lifting, and I'm down like 40lbs since the end of September, but I do sometimes wonder at night if I'm going to wake up the next day. Mainly Im just curious about psychedelics, but my sister thinks I should try weed first. But anyway, is there anything I could cook with weed that would be quick enough so my parents wouldn't notice???
ya dude. look up 'firecracker weed recipe' on google, it will come up with loads of info on how to cook the weed into the organic peanut butter on a cracker sammich, its probably the easiest way to go about eating ur herbs.
