I have been veg.....mmmm, maybe 5-6 months now. But these past few months I have been getting very bad headaches...sometimes migranes.
This isn't normal for me. I just started taking a multivitamin a few days ago, but I'm wondering if this could possibly be a side effect of no meat. Has this happened to anyone else? Just wondering because if not, then it could mean maybe something more serious......this is completely out of the norm for me. And these headaches are horrible!:( So any thoughts would be apprechiated!

Well that happened at first when i made the change to go vegie but if this is still going on after a few months with you you might check with a doctor first to see if you are lacking anything in your diet.It sounds like more of a protien prob.Check to see if you are getting enough protiens and take some b-12 tabs.

If you are suddenly getting headaches when you didn't used to get headaches, I would strongly recommend that you go to a doctor and get tests done. It could be something simple like a vitamin deficiency or a food allergy. But it could also be something serious like a tumor or anurism.

It probably isn't the lack of meat, perhaps your body was detoxing (which leads to headaches) but that would have passed by now.

Check your diet is sound, that you are getting plenty of fluids (Dehydration is a common cause of headaches) and not overly stressed. Otherwise it is probably something medical.
Do see a doctor if it carries on/gets worse, or just for peace of mind.

    Hope you get better soon.

    Thanks everyone for the replys:)
Sage, I am glad you mentioned dehydration.....come to think of it, that could be it. I have pretty much been drinking lots of caffinated soda lately and hardly any water.....so that just might be what it is.

I never heard of a removal of meat causing migraines. Maybe you are eating something new which causes the migraines, or like other people have said, it could be stress, dehydration or a coincidental illness or condition.

Have you tried eating meat again to see if the migraines go away?

No, I'll never eat meat again. I'm thinking maybe lack of protein>cause for as long as I have not been eating meat (5-6 mth) I have not seeked a new protein source. Better get on that I guess:&
