if you have not had them removed what angle have they all grown in at?

    if you got them removed.
What age did you get them removed? was after surgery painful? was the operation a complete success without any complications after? did you get all 4 teeth removed or just a couple? how much did it cost? did you have trouble swallowing your medicine after the procedure because of numbness? how long was your mouth numb after the procedure?

When I was 17. I had all 4 of mine removed at one time in 1977 under general anesthesia in a small hospital, lol. I even stayed over night.

They were impacted in the bone. For swelling afterward, I wore an ice collar tied on top of my head to cover my whole jaw left to right and took my prescribed pain meds. Tylenol 3, I think they were.

    I didn't have any complications.

I got all of mine removed one by one- they grew in with cavities- and got infected. :(
(one was so bad it grew in as just a hallow ring)
The did grow in straight- and wouldn't have been an issue if they had been healthier.
Getting them removed was super easy for me, but again, they were infected, so the pain of the tooth infection was a million times worse than the recovery from getting them taken out.

Hubby has to get his take out soon- because they are growing in sideways. HIS removal will be much more difficult than mine because they will have to cut his gum open to get them out. :(

I haven't had mine taken out..

my theory is that my teeth are crooked enough that they were able to make room for the new guys when they came in (if they came in).

Got my top ones removed when I was in my mid twenty's. It was over in about 15 minutes. Bottom ones are impacted and facing forward. Figured I'm 57 years old, if they haven't bothered me yet why go through all the aggravation of having them surgically removed.

I have one wisdom tooth so far.

The other day, about half of it fell off. Like, legit... I was eating a doughnut, and it was like a glacier melted off of the ice cap known as my jaw. Even now, sand-sized pieces of teeth are still crumbling off.

It's satisfying as BALLS to feel bits of it come off, though. Probably since I'm gonna get them removed anyways and it means that they crumble easily or something.

I have not had mine removed, though I think I need to get my bottom two removed, but a fear of the dentist is not helping.

Ive had two taken out, it wasnet a big deal at all really, it was more of a pain later when you ate as it was very easy to get food stuck in the new hole in your mouth.

When one of them were taken out the dentist had to hold my head back to puul, it was very strange to say the least......

I had all 4 removed when I was in my 20's, they were all impacted and it involved two surgeries. (two per surgery) I ended up with a dry socket after the second surgery and that was a total pain.... literally!

In my late 30's I had some other dental work done and the dentist shot me up and hit a nerve that was improperly dealt with during the wisdom tooth deal. (same side as the dry socket) This locked up my jaw for 6 months..... FML

i don't have them. as in, they don't even show up inside my gums on my dental x-rays. i consider this to be the next stage of evolution.

Over twenty years ago , i had them all removed . I think they were coming in fairly straight . The dentist put some pliers type tool in and cracked them somehow one by one and yanked them out . I remember being amazed at how long they were .

I ended up with a dry socket in one of the upper ones , and that hurt like hell ! If I remember correctly it hurt worse them having them cracked and yanked .

I had two removed in my twenties. They were on the top. I have none on the bottom, so I have the perfect reason for not having wisdom. :)

Had all 4 taken out at once. The bottom 2 were coming in sideways. I had to been around 17 or 18. Surgery was a breeze. They put me out, upon waking I must have said some embarrassing stuff cause the doc was cracking up.

Pain wasn't bad, except my f'n forehead. Was leaving the dentist and hopped in the elevator with my mom and guess I just passed out. Was a small ass elevator so my face slammed against the elevator doors. Vaguely remember being in a wheelchair and eating hydrocodone like candy.

Best part of it was it was like I got sponsorship from Wendy's. Frosty's by the thousand.

Mine were growing at 90 degrees, like a load of bulldozers headed for the roots of all the others, but my dentist was nervous about taking them ou tbecause they were dangerously close to a major nerve and I could end up with completely altered sensation. So he decided to watch them closely and see what they did ... and luckily for me they stopped growing before they caused any complications; and I've still got 'em all. But they haven't erupted or anything.
