I'm a tad bit stoned at the moment... can't remember who all I've met right now... I only remember a couple. Peter Frampton... Keller Williams. What's your favorite music to listen to stoned? I'm watching the Cream Strange Brew DVD right now.
I've met several... Bela Fleck, and all the Flecktones... Dave Matthews and his band, Jack Johnson, Donovan Frankenriter, Rusted Root lead singer (can't remember his name right now) Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Keller Williams, John Bell... others that I can't think of right now. Last week I met the band "Blue Merle"... they're cool guys. I don't smoke anymore, so that's null and void to me... but, I used to love smoking out and jamming old school Pink Floyd, or some Zeppelin.
The only ones I'd actually say I'd met, as in got to sit and talk with them, would be Ani DiFranco and Muggs from Cypress Hill (a total fluke meeting too, lol). If you consider them "famous" I've also met David Wilcox and Leo Kotke.
ooh... I met Leo Kottke, as well. I've also met and taken a course thing (workshop) with Tommy Emmanuel and met Doyle Dykes... some others... I still can't remember all. egh. friggin idiot.

I've met a few people after gigs and stuff like... Frank Black, SikTh, Mighty Might Bosstones... except for Frank Black not really anyone interesting. But Van Morrison's guitarist did come over and show us a few riffs randomly when I was sitting on a field in cambridge.
I met Timothy Leary at a book signing in SF in 1994. I gave him a bunk sheet of steel your face blotter (I can't even remember where I got it, and no, I wasn't selling bunk lsd), which he first bit, then asked if it was for real, and then he signed it! When I was a few years older, I met and became friends with Haile Selassie's personal secretary, confidant, and minister of religion, Abba Melchesidek. He was the first Ethiopian official to met with the Rastafarian community, including Mortimo Planno, and arranged the first Rastafarian diplomatic mission to Ethiopia in 1961, and later, the famous visit to Jamaica 1966. Not that famous, but important to me.

I forgot, i have met and smoked with Don Carlos from Black Uhuru, and with Justin Hinds (who just passed away in March). Folks from the SF Bay Area might know Groundation, I was good friends with Harrison, their lead singer and guitarist. I always used to see Fenton, an older school roots reggae singer in Berkeley. Damn, they keep coming back to me, I met Sizzla and Mutabaruka at Rasputin Records in Berkeley sometime around '99.
