Never have, nor have i ever called them for help. Every situation is usually easier if i keep them out of it.
once on a vacation in nevada i called because a guy was swerving all over the road, almost hit a few cars, i assume he was drunk. other than that i don't think i ever have.
I DO ALL THE TIME! like not for shit that wont affect me but like when shit may be detrimental to my life I’m calling the cops. The only other solution is me kickin some ass and well no one wants that.
I've called the cops on myself... lol If I knew of a woman or child being abused that I couldn't help out personally, I wouldn't hesitate for a second in calling the cops. In general, deal with it yourself when possible, and if it isn't harming someone then you shouldn't get involved in other peoples lives.
people stealing manhole cover : called.. crazy man in my woods with chainsaw : called.. work related no count..
called them to assist a car that swerved off the highway during a blizzard in Vermont. we didn't stop...kept driving to Montreal
I'll share about one One time I found a drunk passed out at the wheel in a running car stopped in the middle of a busy road.I didn't know he was drunk though...he wouldnt answer me even after pounding on the window...the door was locked when I called I thought he was dead.
Once, when someone I knew was threatening suicide, me and a friend did call 911, we just wanted an ambulance sent, but got a "ride" in the back of a cop car (no seatbelts, in a cage, etc) to another mutual friends house to try to get him to get ahold of mr. suicidal. In the end he was okay, I think he had a minor opiate OD, and they never did find him during that episode. But they did some nice attempted scare mongering, trying to tell the stoned little kids that if he was ODing on acid he wouldn't make it, and that we had to stay put at the pay-phone until the pig showed up for us, complete with glock, tazer, and a half dozen pairs of hand cuffs, just in case they needed to rough up 911 callers.... Since then, I would be much less likely to call them, though there are some times I undoubtedly should have and could have saved myself some material, monetary, and physical harm if I'd called. Since losing a third of a tooth and 3/4ths ounces of pot on my campus, before being set up by the culprit to try to make it look like I jacked his TV, I keep the university DPS non emergency number in my phone, so I can call if I do have a problem on campus, they'd probably send real cops along with campus ones, but at least I wouldn't have to deal with the 911 call and the bullshit they gave for that before. But off campus I wouldn't unless I had a real problem. I've done more running from the cops than calling the cops. And with my positive experiences running and negatives experiences calling, they're not being effective enough at making friends with me to change that balance. It would be like going to my neighbor with a rotweiler to find my lost chihuahua: not real bright. More likely to get mauled than saved. I'd sooner call my friend with a mossberg if I needed assistance of the armed type, or for medical help, a non 911 ambulance/hospital number, which I suppose I should look up and add to my phone. Occupying forces don't serve and protect, simple as that.
pay phone is the best way...up here they want way too much information about the person doing the calling
This. If there was a woman or child in danger and I couldn't do anything about, I would call the cops. I'd still hate that the cops would feel satisfaction for getting an arrest, but that's not as important as a woman and/or child's safety. That's probably the only exception for me, as far as calling the cops goes. Well......I take that back. I would call the cops on a crooked cop. lol
Yeah, they told us to stay put, if you wanna help save his life, yada yada.... We figured it couldn't hurt and it could help, but we should have gotten out of dodge, it didn't amount to anything in the end anyway.
I've called 911 to report a wreck and to get an ambulance a few times before, but I, myself, have never called the cops to get someone else in trouble. Never really had reason to, and my neighbors are probably the only people I'd ever call the cops on, but I'd only do it if I had a real reason, since they thought it would be funny to call in a false police report on us and have our house ransacked. I'm just waiting for those douches to fuck up. Just waiting.
I would simply love to be able to do this. I know of crooked cops, they're the ones who perjured a search warrant for my residence based on utter bullshit.... Lookin at ya, darrel losoya... But nothing that I can actually get him in trouble for, just business as usual, no bodies in the fuckers basement or anything.
I've pointed my shotgun at more people than I've called the cops for. I called the cops once when a buddy was getting jumped - they never showed. Since then I've dealt with my own problems.
Absolutely! Too many instances to name them all...I called the cops on the guys that broke my nose in three parts, all the people who robbed me, and pointed a gun at me throughout life, and on the handful of shootings I`ve been in, the few instances when I saw a body stretched out on the street after a hit-and-run, loud music during my sleep hours, you name it. I love pigs! Edit: Oh yeah, I`ve also called the cops on a few occasions when I saw someone being abused or badly beaten or some kind of business irregularity or something like that. On aliens I too...
actually there was one other time as well - we were young and all still living with our parents, so we were going down to a forested area to smoke a bowl. there is this little bridge over a small creek that we like to smoke on, but this time we found a guy lying on the bridge. we woke him up and he was really out of it. as we shared our pipe with us he told us how he had just taken the rest of a bottle of valium to try and kill himself. when we finished the bowl he said "well, thanks for the weed, i'm going to go try and find another way to kill myself" and wandered off. i called 911 and kept an eye on the guy from a distance. they showed up and took him to the hospital, i assume he was alright.
