Or to be politically correct, have you ever been involuntarily terminated from your place of employment? If no, fine whatever. If yes, gimme some details. My poor mom got fired from KFC, back when she was a teen. Her friend was seeing the manager, the married manager. They wanted to spend some time together, and put my mom on for her shift. She never told my poor mom about it. Next time she came in for her shift, she was axed. Poor mom.
yes, I was "caught" shopping when I was supposed to be sick. I was at a grocery store that had prescriptions that I had to pick up but my cart was filled with "Xmas wrapping paper" and that got me fired. I could've fought it, but they were assholes. The stupid co-worker that caught me was a wench. My husband was in rehab at the time, I had a sick baby and I was sick with strep throat, and I worked with children at the time. No compassion at all ... and I worked there for 5 years!!!!!
never been fired, no. but once when I worked as a server in a country club they docked my pay because I stayed late to help the bussers and that looked like I was milking the clock to management so I told them to fuck off and I quit. THen I had a phone sales job which was great, made $20-30 an hour in commissions. I went and smoked a bowl every day and no one said a word about it but I knew they knew. Then a couple co workers got fired for smokin weed in the parking lot. The CEO fired them both b/c the building manager wanted them fired. Our company didn't really care that you were high as long as you made sales. I eventually quit that job b/c they told me I was coming in a couple minutes late regularly and I said fuck off I don't need this job that bad.
why yes, yes i have. didn't bother showing up one day... never called or anything either... and this other time... i was 8 hours late... lol. thats only cause i never really cared... lol.
You were 8 hours late? Isn't a shift, generally, around 8 hours? Did you come in for the last 5 minutes?
I got fired a few times for insubordination. Last time I was working as a busboy. My waiter was giving me shit for not putting the plates fast enough in the elevator. "It's easy. It takes 2 seconds." (He had never done any of it to know) So I threw a dirty fork down on the counter sending bits and scraps of food flying and said, "If it's so easy. Why don't you do it?" And walked away. Later on that evening the big boss called me up to his office.
technically yes, but no. I was doing the whole office manager power trip. I mean I worked my ass off for those people. worked 12 hour days 7 days a week. all they had to do was come in to pick up billing and sign paychecks. for a pretty busy company and only me running the whole shebang they were lucky. sure they were paying me upwards of 800 a week without taxes, but dammit.. anyway.. one of the installers crashed a new box truck on the freeway and the owner was livid. He asked me for the insurance card copies that he put away because the driver didnt have it with him. he told me I wasnt doing my job and that I was fired. I told him to go fuck himself and took all my shit, called a cab and left. I was waiting for my friend to come pick me up a few blocks away and I saw the owner in his truck looking for me. he blew up my phone for a good two weeks begging me to come back and apologizing. Their company went under 3 months after I left. I find a little bit of satisfaction in that.
I feel like that's what everybody says when they are fired, and they actually care about the job. I mean, it could be true. I'm just saying...
yea...was working for the aquarium in boston. in the promotions arena...so most of my job consisted of giving out discount coupons to tourists. a lot of the coupons ended up being thrown away...so the higher ups figured the staff were just tossing them to finish sooner, but that wasn't the case at all. they spied on us during the summer...so this is 1/2 the reason the other 1/2 was for me kicking the seal costume. you had the body part of the costume, then you had the head. pretty awkward to carry by yourself, but my coworkers weren't around. so i tried carrying it by myself, the head ended up falling to the floor...so i kicked it forward...yea, i was caught. its not like i booted the thing...more like i nudged it forward on every step. so combine those 2 and i got called to my boss and told not to come back... i was actually really happy, because i got a better job at the aquarium the next summer...where i actually used my knowledge to teach young kids
They actually had the gall to invite me to the Director's retirement party. I'm like ummmm, no I hate her! That isnt like me really but I couldnt resist. lol Fitzy I can see you kicking that seal head down the hall
I wasn't really fired (I quit), but this is what happened. I was working at (don't laugh) Burger King at the time when I was 17. I was the only one working in the kitchen and it was like 5:30 in the afternoon and we were swamped. So all these orders start coming in and the manager (some fat hick bitch) starts bitching me out for going too slow. Well, eventually the stress got to me so I told her to "go fuck off and eat a dick." I ripped my work shirt and hat off and stormed out of the place. It felt great!
