I have to disagree with Glen. I think they exist, but are not advanced enough to reach us, and if they are then we are doomed.

 

With the scale of the universe, how could you deny they aren't real? It would explain a lot of our monuments and how they were constructed

The universe is far too vast, for there not to be. Who would really believe that we, earth, are the only planet out of billions possibly to exist, are the one and only "special" planet that gets to support life?

 

I think we would be foolish to think we were the only life forms in the universe, whether or not they have visited is really hard to say.

 

I have to believe that we are not alone in the universe. However, I'm not sure if we have been "visited" yet or not.

I think it could be very well the case that we are the only 'intelligent' life in the universe. If you see the complexity of our own environment that developed and sustains us. But yes, it is possible other complex circumstances in the universe also brought forth (or will so in the far far future ) inteligent life.

 

Perhaps they will find some remnants of our civilizations and tell stories of us in the vein of "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away" :biggrin:

Oh yes, but if the environmental changes would change to something like that on Mars there would most likely some traces to be found for a very long time. Anyway, I understand that a lot of things could happen even if some future alien would show up here. Perhaps the whole planet won't even exist anymore

 

Well after NASAs article on being scared of aliens was posted on here, I really hope they dont visit whilst humans still exist. We would just fuck it up for ourselves!
