Hassan Rohani wins Iranian election

This is probably good news. Ahmadinejad wasn't exactly the leader one would dream of.

 

I'm not sure how good this news is. As I understand it all serious opposition was banned from the elections.

 

It's gotta start somewhere. I am sure America will bring them true democracy eventually.

 

We are practicing true-er democracy than America. Not saying we should bring it over there by the way

 

Oh god no, hundreds of political parties isn't ideal either. Except maybe when they have a 'Party for Partying' there as well.

 

It's difficult to decide if this is a start on the road to deeper democratic reforms or a way to lend legitimacy to an autocratic supreme leader.

He is considered to be moderate. May not be what we consider as outsiders but then we do not live there.

Hopefully he is what he is represented as, time will tell.

 

Probably some CIA spook schooled in the West.
