I am now 23 years old, but when I was about 5 or something I read and was given a kids book called 'Chicken Soup With Rice' by the same author as 'Where The Wild Things Grow' Has anyone ever read it? Do you know why it was written or any history on it? What do you think of this book? Thank you very much for any information.

Sipping once, sipping twice, sipping chicken soup with rice!!!! I used to LOVE this story when was a kid :D
I think that it's a great way for kids to learn the months. This is how I acually got January, June and July finally straight.
That's Maurice Sendack (Where the WIld Things Are), one of the greatest children's author's of all time.
    Hope I helped you out!!!

Carole King sings the music. Definitely worth checking out. Soup is part of a little series.
Most of Sendak's stuff is great- check out The Night Kitchen.

When I was a kid I read a book called "Where the wild things are". It is a funny story about a small boy named max. One evening in his home he is playing with wolf costume making mischief to family members. As a punishment his mother sends him without supper. In the room the small boy made the imagination of wild forest and the land of wild things. In the wild forest there were monsters and many wild animals. Max conquers by starring into all their yellow eyes without blinking. And he is the king of all wild things dancing with monsters and enjoying. After few hours he find himself lonely and returns to bedroom where he find the hot supper waiting for him.

I don't think I ever read a children's book by that title even though I used to read childrens books all the time at book stores (although my favorites seemed to be pop-ups XD; i'm such an infant at heart...).
