so yesterday the professor asked everyone how they were doing, and of course everyone mumbles and says things like tired, pissed, eh, or whatever. then i shout "im happy!" and the person sitting next to me looks at me with discust and says "WHY???"

why am i happy? why not? life is too short and too precious to be pissed off and tired and depressed all the time. i prefer to be happy even if it is a rainy day.

anyone else with similar experiences? happy people rock and make the world a better place.

Happy is definitely a good thing, depressed just plain old sucks. Of course, a case of the pissies hits everyone from time to time, so not every day of the year can be shiney happy...well, if it is, then I definitely want what you're having. ;)

it's not natural to be happy ALL the time. happiness is just one single emotion out of the entire spectrum of emotions. to only experience happiness is to deny yourself a whole world of important, valuable experiences that lead to compassion and empathy.

i wouldn't call myself so much happy as content, appearances on here to the contrary.

o dont get me wrong, i do have my bad days just like everyone else. i am just befuttled at why people generally tend tward the angry, tired, stressed, pissed off side of things. if life is what people make it out to be then why not at least be happy about stuff?

glad to see that some people are happy today :). hopefully happiness can spread like a contagious disease that everyone will want to catch!

    hehe peace

Yeah, I think people would rather have something to bitch about. For some reason it's more popular to be angry or "depressed" or upset than to be happy and enjoying yourself.

Happiness is nice. I'm never afraid to admit when I'm happy.
