Sure most music makes me happy but if I were looking for really happy music what would you recommend? I kind of seem not to have much music that's really happy of itself, no matter if it's uplifting to me.

    Thankies! ^_^

well, i think keller williams has some really happy music. it's always upbeat and sometimes downright silly. might not be your cup of tea, but its worth a listen. let me know if you want a live show or something. you could also download a few mp3s from his website to get a taste.

bluegrass also makes me feel pretty happy too....its just so upbeat i can't help but stomp my feet! i realize a lot of folks dont like the bluegrass though...

I'll take a listen to Ted Williams. Any bluegrass bands you think are worth particular recommendation? Thanks!

Steve Hillage, a tremendously underrated British guitar player, put out a string of very uplifting albums in the mid-late 70s.

It is mostly instrumental, and is very different. The artist is an Australian Aborigine, and the music is very tribal, but with modern production and recording. It always lifts me up.

Well, I think you are talkin to me. Anyway, check out Keller Williams at www.kellerwilliams.net click on "sounds" and then download the "freeker by the speaker" mp3....(scroll down til you find it)

as for bluegrass, i like "the bluegrass sessions: tales from the acoustic planet"....it has bela fleck, sam bush, tony rice, vassar clements and earl scruggs. sam bush band is also a great band to check out for live shows.....bluegrass covers of bob marley are so sweet! the tony furtado band is also good, though i dont think they are playing shows right now. yonder mountain string band is another band that is REALLY good, especially live, but they aren't normal bluegrass....more like newgrass or something..

and yeah, i gotta agree that marley is some happy music!

    take it easy,

for upbeat, uplifting music I listen to yonder, assembly of dust, and moe. They're all so energetic! these bands are pretty typical, but hey. who cares as long as it's good right?

the song i've been playing at the moment, which just makes me beam is 'The only living boy in New York." with lines like 'hey, i've got nothing to do today but smile" it's hard not to feel happy.

also, The black seeds are great for a big energy burst. Check out songs like "Fire" :)
