Even though I'm agnostic I respect your opinions on Easter. So Happy Easter everone. And even if Easter wasn't the day my lord was reborn, we get tons of candy xD!!
i didn't get any candy either. i was told i could get a book. i ended up buying a book of paul cezanne's paintings for my boyfriend, which i have now lost.
I don't really celebrate Easter, even though I'm christian; well, I believe in god, at least......not sure if I'm exactly a christian. Either way, no easter It is my late grandpa's birthday though, so I'll be smoking a few bowls/joints/blunts for him. The first of which will happen right now, in the form of a 1:45pm wake-n-bake:spliff: Happy Easter
Actually, when the Church was imposing Christianity upon the Anglo-Saxons of England back in the 10th century, they replaced all of the pagan holidays with Christian ones. Easter today is actually on the date of the Spring Equinox, which the Anglo-Saxons celebrated and praised their pagan god Eostre. So, Easter is actually a pagan celebration. Like rabbits and eggs would have had anything to with Jesus anyways... pff...
Lmao, that's what I was gonna say =_= And @paintballer- It can still be pegan, but I'm agnostic so I don't take heart in other denominational holidays either.
I consider myself to be at least slightly christian, but I am no worshipper. I believe in a god, most resembling the christian god, but I don't believe we were created out of love. I believe we were created for his entertainment.....like a soap opera or an ant farm. What other reason would we have to be created but to entertain him? We really serve him no other purpose.
I believe that there was one thing that started a bacteria, and we evolved from that. Now, I believe in a god, but none that are mainstream nor that I have heard of. I just don't beleve there is enough evidence for most of the religions to be proved.
The bottom line of what they were worshiping was the Spring Equinox. They believed it was because of the goddess Eostre, but it was the equinox itself they were celebrating. And equinox is astronomy, not religious. And yes, I saw the South Park episode.
