OPINION: Earth Day Is Completely Futile If We’re Not Willing To Discuss Meat Earth day is about debating a set of misconceptions where the goal of simply adapting (sitting upon assess) to each ecological issue is worth selfishly wasting the majesty of what our generation has today and taking it away from my grandchildren. Extinction looms! Will switching to synthetic meat prevent 87 percent of annual greenhouse gas emissions? Cultured meat - Wikipedia
I wish we treated this planet for better and leave it better for the next generation when we move on.
Thank you for this thread DrRainbow! I was an organizer for Earth Day at my High School on the very first Earth Day. It was I who told the principal that we were not going to attend classes and up to him to create a program of events... Fortunately the principal was a friend of my parents and somewhat understanding of the whole concept... and agreed! We spent the dat outside, studying ecology and such then had a school meeting in the hall where many people got up and spoke passionately bout the environment and pollution. Happy Earth Day! Great day for a cookout. That's awesome, Zen! Many an Earth day I found myself out picking up debris as a volunteer with organized groups. I guess there was some degree of virtue signaling but we did clean up some messes which made it worthwhile. Plus a stack of tee-shirts from participating.
