    A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, the author of many Scots poems.     This is what I had for my Burns Supper . I have had proper haggis a few times as a meat eater and this is a good veggie alternative .

    Nearly hunted to extinction during the great Burns Supper craze of the 1920s, haggis numbers have since exploded. Pictured here is a traditional haggis hunting party - the guns are just for show, haggis are caught using nets.
