use a good lube, lotion or masturbation cream. i'd recommend a quality condom-safe lube, if the handjob is foreplay. lotions and some masturbation creams can damage comdoms. water-based lubes are the best; my company sells one called "revelation" that's really good.

to give a good handjob, squirt a little lube in your palm. you may want to slightly warm the bottle in a bowl of hot water first, or let it sit in your hand to warm to your body temperature. cold lube is not arousing! then grasp his penis with the underside resting in your lubed palm. remember that most men appreciate a firm, tight grip, but don't pull the thing off! (even if you're mad at him, you might need it later!;) ) use a smooth, steady stroking motion. start slowly and gently, and gradually pick up speed. follow his lead - if he's trowing his head back and moaning, don't stop and switch hands. most guys like a lot of attention on the underside of the shaft, right under the head - that's the most sensitive part of the penis. don't stop stroking, when he orgasms, just keep lovingly pumping your hand till he's done.

i don't know how you feel about giving oral sex, but a handjob is a good way to lead up to that. you can use a flavored lube when you start stroking, and then teasingly lick it off by flickering your tounge on the very tip of his penis to test if he's ready for more.

i'm sure there are guys here who could tell you how they like it better than me though.;) good luck!

I like it with a good firm grip, it really gets me off when girls play with your balls while their strokin the shaft, and gradually build up speed

FYI - Not all men like lube. I've never found use for the stuff.

i recommended the lube, because most of the men i've been with prefer it, but also because it makes for safer, more sensitive sex. lubricants prevent minor abrasions and irritations. lubes also help to sensitize. run your finger lightly along your dry lips. then lick your lips, and do it again. feels different, doesn't it?

of course natural lube is best but there are several reasons why someone might want to use a commercial lube. age, health, tiredness, stress, and emotional state can all affect a woman's wetness. men produce a small amount of their own natural lubricant, but not enough for a hand job.

some men like to use cornstarch or talc, for handjobs but i don't think the talc is condom-safe.

of course if you prefer it dry, go for it.

Like I said, never once have I had a use for the stuff - no guy friend I've ever had has used the stuff for masturbation and I personally have never had a need for it with conventional sex. I had one girl try it once with me during regular intercourse the first time we were together and I said, okay, but lets try things without next time. Needless to say, the tube founds its way to the trash

    Lube is for Losers :p

I'd say Kitty Fabulous is right on. I don't usually use a lube when I am masturbating, but when a girl is doing it for me, I like when she uses it.

Kitty also mentioned to keep stroking after orgasm until the guy finishes, which is good advice, because some girls stop right away, and it cuts the orgasm short.

She also is aware of the spot that the penis is most sensitive to stimulation. I'd say a hand job from her sounds pretty good.

my husband doesn't like it either, but i prefer it. i must say it makes things easier, when there's still some tension between us and we're still returning to intimacy.

My boyfriend doesn't like it when I keep stroking through the orgasm. He usually pushes my hand away. I think it gets too sensitive or something. He does like lube though. We don't use commercial lube. The first time I met him we were drunk and went to three sex stores testing lubes. They're ok but they don't feel natural. I really like oil - massage oil or whatever is on hand. When I give him a hand job he doesn't like to be too lubed. Just a little to make things smoother. I also use soap in the shower. :)
If you ever watch some of the many sex shows on tv right now they give lots of tips about giving handjobs. One of them was to do a milking motion with both hands. They demonstrate on dildos. It was interesting. My boyfriend's been away for three weeks so I'll find out if he likes that method when he gets back! :)

i don't have a TV. wish i could watch those shows though. apparently many of the products passion parties carries are mentioned on some of them.

there are some drawbacks to using oil for handjobs. petroleum-based oils, like baby oil, are not condom safe, and natural oils could damage a condom as well. also, especially with the mineral oils, there could be irritation or allergies. ditto for the soap - and i am speaking from horrible experience there. please be careful masturbating or having sex using soap for lube in the shower or hot tub! my husband and i spent a couple of nights in a bed and breakfast for a little getaway before my second baby was born. we used bubble bath in the jacuzzi, and had sex in the tub. there are some places where a lady just doesn't want a terrible rash! the rash i got down there was quite painful, and i've been horribly allergic to products containing sodium laurel or laureth sulphate ever since. even if you use bar soap, most are made with irritating chemicals and perfumes. not what you want to be rubbing into your genitals.

jeanne rose's herbal body book has a recipe for a homemade herbal sexual lubricant. i believe it uses seaweed, comfrey, and aloe vera gel.

Yes I know all that. My boyfriend and I have been together for awhile and don't use condoms - just the pill. I've been tested three times in the last year for STDs (HIV included). It's all good. No oil is safe to use with condoms. I don't use anything with mineral oil because I think it's a ridiculous product. Vegetable oils absorb into your skin and help condition it while mineral oils just sit there and do nothing. Also, if you use essential oils (which I love) you need to use a vegetable oil as the base (there are a few exceptions).
I never use any harsh soaps on my vagina. I have one brand of soap that I'm comfortable with and don't react to and I buy tons of it. I think I have 12 bars in my cupboard now! :)
Sex in the shower is fine but I would never have sex underwater. Hot tubs are a partiuclar no no. What a breeding ground for bacteria! I really don't want to have any water pumped into me! LOL
My guy doesn't mind getting a handjob with soap. Although it stings when he pees if soap gets into his penis. He pees it out though and is fine.
That would suck to be allergic to sodium laurel or laureth sulphate. They're in almost everything! What do you use?
I find aloe vera gel to be lovely for some things but I think it would be quite sticky for sex.
I like to make massage oil with corn/canola oil, vanilla and cinnamon. I leave a cinnamon stick in the jar for a few days for the scent to get in. It's quite nice and smells yummy when it gets heated up.
Betty Dobson, a quite famous 'sexpert', recommends oil as a lubricant. Especially for women who have trouble having an orgasm. It's such a great feeling.

well, i use cider vinegar to wash my dreads, and i shop at a natural foods co-op for other products free of the nasty stuff. the hardest thing to find was toothpaste. i was brushing my teeth with a homemade baking soda tooth power for a month and a half.

i used to use a blend of grapeseed, almond and jojoba oil for massage. it makes a nice, smooth oil, silky but not too heavy. i too used vanilla and cinnamon. another blend i like is patchouly and lavender. aura cacia has a massage lotion that's scented with patchouly and orange, that smells divine, but i'm not sure if it's safe for sexual use. i know orange can be very irritating to some people. aloe was only one of the ingredients in jeanne rose's recipe. i never tried it out, i don't really mind commercial lubes.

i think i remember reading that on her webpage. i just never really liked oil.

Apple cider vinegar hair rinse is great! I think a lot of people are wary of it but it really works wonders. I like the way it smells but that's just me. I try to explain to a lot of people that it isn't as bad as it sounds but they are still tentative. Nice to meet another fan! :)

My boyfriend loves to drench me in oil. He pours it all over my body and then slides all over me. I like it too but I don't like it every night! He doesn't seem to mind sleeping that oily but I do. LOL We usually shower after anyway. I just like a little oil where I need it. A little goes a long way. Those oil combinations sound nice. I used to have like 20+ bottles of essential oils but right now it's not something I can afford.

There is a brand of toothpaste called Tom's of Maine. I'm not sure of the ingredients offhand but it's supposed to be all natural. I've used it quite a bit and really like it. I can find it almost everywhere. The natural section in Wal-Mart even has it. Have you tried it? Again, I'm not sure if it would work for you.

I supposed that I could find a lube that I really liked. I just don't see the point right now since I don't use condoms. Although, a handjob leading to oral might be a good reason to buy flavoured lube.

Where I'm living right now there is only one sex shop. it's quite tame compared to some of the ones I've been in. Lots of feathers but only 2 or 3 vibrators. I'm not sure about there selection of lubes.

Maybe I'll go and take a look tomorrow!

tom's of maine contains sodium laurel sulphate, as does nature's gate. the brands i've used without problems are weleda, burt's bees, and a vitamin C toothpaste by jason. but it took me a long time to find them, and my co-oped helped by making a point to seek out products that would meet my needs.

ok, this is going to sound like an ad, but i'm a "passion consultant" for passion parties. are you familiar with passion parties? think of me like the avon lady only more fun & with samples of "nipple nibblers" and "tasty tease". we do have flavored lubes, a thick, almost creamy one called "lucky stiff" that comes in 3 flavors and one called "lickety lube", that's similar to "wet" and it comes in i think 6 flavors. we also have flavored massage oils, some of which heat up when you blow on them. the most common one you're going to find in sex shops is probably "wet", but i do like the ones we sell because to me, they taste better.
