Halloween? How do you feel about it?

I think it's silly how people celebrate it...

I celebrate death, darkness, and the fall in my own way.

On the full moon, I love to carve a jack o lantern, and bring it with me to the forest.

I know this sounds insane to most of you, but I've had my jack o lantern speak to me.

Sort of like an oracle. This is just magick....you can do it with anything....but I like it to be spooky.

fuck the candy, the tick or treat, the 31st...

 

yeah right, halloween parties at a church is like...an oxymoron or something.

I'm not into any of the religious aspects of the holiday~It's just an excuse want to wear a strange looking outfit for 1 day and get free candy.

 

its fun to dress up...and even more fun to dress up as something you would like to. like a cat, a baby, a princess or a really scary person who scares people. its part of the american culture. i vote it should stay and is something fun to celebrate

 

i am a buddhist and am ambivalent about all holidays

my wife is somewhat druidic and has special feelings about halloween

Considering it is the eve before All Saints, some Christian groups (Italian Catholics) dress up as Saints. My prof/priest always dressed up as St Steven cause he shares his name (Stefano)...

Either way, ghouls or saints, it is pretty harmless. It is the same thing as atheists celebrating our Western secular Christmas (X-Mas)...

 

If you ask me, it's all a wee bit inane.

I love Halloween. a great chance to dress up as satan and go pull pranks while eating massive amounts of candy hells yeah!

 

As a kid, Halloween was my second favorite holiday--right after Christmas--because I got candy, got a chance to dress up in scary costumes, and enjoyed the adventure of ringing people's doorbells and hiding. I'd hate to see Puritanical killjoys take this away from kids because it offends some dippy religious dogma. I don't think I or most other normal people ever thought of Satan when celebrating this holiday. Lighten up!

Besides that, the "celebration" of the one day of the year in which those from the other side may "walk" here, which is what Halloween is supposed to be, right? - is quite Wrongly associated with Satan.
