Half a hit

Hey, my friend Jon is still thinking about trying acid, but told me to ask a question here before doing so. He is wondering what the effects of half a hit would be, and if it would be better for a first timer or not. how long would half a hit last? How would the trip be? would people be able to tell he was on something on half a hit? He wants it to be at a point to where he can get a taste of the psychedelic experience. He wants the colors and the introspective essences of it, but still be able to function normally in everyday life and not be too inebriated. Basically, he wants to be able to act normally but still get a taste of the acid trip.

Jon is planning to do it at the beach with his uncle. His uncle is cool with him smoking pot, and is very chill in general, but might not be chill with acid. so his plan was to drop about and hour before going to the beach, then going to the beach and swimming and general beach stuff. would this be safe on half a hit? he also wants to know if his uncle would know, since he doesn't plan on letting him know. how long would it last for him?

Very dumb idea, acid is not like pot, it can be very hard to hide, and can be extremely intense, just not smart to do it around those who would not approve. Also the whole point of taking a psychedelic IS to be inebriated and part of that "contract" is you resign your functional abilities for a few hours . . . but that's a personal annoyance of mine, I don't like when people take a psychedelic and then do everything in their power to combat the effects of the psychedelic they just took in order to maintain appearances in the setting that was poorly selected to begin with

acid blotters vary in potency wildly. half a hit may have him feeling absolutely nothing, or it may make him curl up into fetal position and cry for 6 hours. tell your friend john that he should do acid on a day he has all to himself, he should do a real, serious dose, like 1-2 hits, and he shouldn't think of it as a "background buzz", it has the potential to really change your life and at least temporarily make your universe go bye bye.

Dose higher John, and do it at a time/place that allows you to actually experience it.

 

Yeah, I agree with everyone. That's not a good setting for a first time experience, even if at just half a hit. Instead find a good friend or two to join you in a comfortable setting where you can relax with no potential pressures from disapproving people. You'll be happy you did. Enjoy, John.

It depends on your definition of casual. Mine is that you just arent being serious, so on lsd im always casual.

Yeah Ive gone to work and to jr college on tiny bits of acid. Gotta say, if you can pull it off, it is like your own adventure world on LSD just going and exploring new places to trip. You gotta have experience and be somewhat skilled to be able to trip just "anywhere"

 

half a hit will barely do shit. go hard or go home man take 3 hits, your first trip you will always remember so go for it.

 

3 hits of weak blotter. Wouldnt have recommended 3 of what i have though, cuz i took three for my third trip, and it prolly woulda turned me off acid if i did that the first time. Very intense.

 

low doses usually lack visuals and colors, and especially the introspective qualities. when those things are affected, it's quite far from normal. the point is to trip, don't expect to do your normal thing.

Nah low doses of acid can be awesome if you have good stuff of course. Or as I like to call "a medicinal dose" It does not at all lack any of the colors, or the introspection. You just have to use a little bit more effort to put yourself in that set of mind.

My 2 cents... having been many years since my first...

Things to consider.... are you experienced? Would you be a good "guide"? Be honest with yourself. Maybe google a little about being a trip guide.
Are you familiar with these doses? Weak ones today might produce next to nothing at 1/2 hit. Like PS said, the point is to trip. Not try to be 'normal'.
The beach can be magical, but tripping around straight people, especially your first time, is a bad idea.
If you've read around here some, theres some things you read about being bad things. Take note. A safe place, few or little people, (def not straight relatives that dont know whats up) plenty of time, etc.
Consider that Jon isnt' ready yet, in my experience L isnt something you do half assed... "getting a feel but still being normal" isnt tripping. Do a little more reading and plan. Its like your first time with a girl. It will always be a memory of his first trip, make it magical.

can you find out how many ug per hit? Two might be good if they're 80-100 ea which is what many say goes around, that wouldn't wouldnt be too much for a first. set and setting tho dude. really.

 

two hits could be very potent or very weak. very potent doesn't necessarily mean "too much" though. i've taken two hits before and been disappointed. i've taken a half before and been blown away. for your first time, i don't think two is a bad idea at all
