dude sit in a quiet room with nothing but your guitar and the song playing and take it riff for riff by ear thats how i learned the solo to the wall and the solo to freebird it takes a while but u just gotta have patience but you will never be a great guitar player til you can learn to play everything by ear. dont get me wrong reading music is a a tough task and can help toward writing music but learning by ear is one of the main fundementals of guitar man. either learn to read music or play by your ear. all the greats play/played by ear. hendrix, clapton, bb king, angus young, jimmy paige. i diddnt mean to sound like an ass i just used to be just like you and i never got anywere with my playing til i started doing it on my own. Good luck man and keep on rockin out.

olga.net has the best source of ANY tab site i think. Ironically, is there anybody out there was one of the first songs i ever learned! it is a very cool song though. Sounds even better when played on a classical guitar.

-Just a piece of advice here. I always used tabs to play. But i always sucked. Now i never use tabs, and just play what i think sounds good. After i ditched tabs and started playing my own music, i found out how much better you are at guitar when you play your own stuff. Keep jammin bro! Listen to LEO KOTTKE. best guitarist of all time in my opinion, hands down. PEACE

actually, blue skittle, jimmy page didn't play by ear...he was very into theory and was a highly in-demand session player...he had to read alot of music.

also, it's very possible to go far with your guitar playing without playing by ear.
you're actually better off learning to read music and learning theory and the works. i personally play by ear and wish i could do all of this and one day probably will. sure, alot of great players play by ear, but more know how to read music, know theory and so on. learning to read opens up alot of doors such as being able to do session work in the studio for other bands, a good source of income if you're a pro musician without a steady check.

what i'm saying is, there is nothing wrong with reading music and learning theory, it's actually better. alot of people say if you learn all of this, your playing will lack soul...what crap. the blue skittle mentioned jimmy page, he read music and knew theory, i'd dare you to say he had no soul in his playing.

sorry to go off into a rant, but i personally believe you should learn to read, because i wish i could.

yeah being able to read music and understand theory will make you learn a lot faster. Playing by ear has its pros and cons, as does theory. I think you should just do what you think suits your style of playing the best. Start off with learning the circle of 5ths. I dont know jack about theory but i know that. Make sure to not be totally controlled by theory tho. If your gonna use theory, you have to be able to reject stuff that doesnt work for you. Hope i helped. peace bro

Exactly.Tabs are usually BS...I can figure out songs so much easier by ear.Tabs just confuse the shit out of me.

Tabbing is kinda like cheating...Work through it man!

This song is fairly easy. It's only the A minor and C major Chords plucked up then down w/ variations. Only twice in the song does it hit more than one string. With a song like this you want to play it with your own style too, so I don't know why you want an exact tab. I have the guitar book for The Wall, so I know what I play is right.

The fills in both the previous links are wrong.

The fill with the slide in the middle of the C chord just goes from 1st fret on the B string up to the 3rd fret and back.

The next fill goes something like 5 fret, G string/ 5f Bs / 4f Gs / 3f Bs / 2f Gs / 1f Bs / 2f Gs / Open B. I think. I don't have a guitar in front of me so I can't quite remember. But I know it involves those notes (not sure about the open notes) other than that those tabs look OK, except when you hit the first note in the C chord, you should hit both the A sting (C) and the D string (E) at the same time then continue. Likewise, just before that when you hit the last note of the A chord which rings before continuing to the C chord, hit the D string (E) and the G string (A) at the same time and let them ring.

I don't know how much since this makes to you, but I'm bored at work so I thought I'd write it out. I love playing this song too. It makes me sound like a pro. When you accent the low note, you fool people who don't know any better into thinking they're hearing two guitars playing.
