Aww I love guinea pigs too.

Never had any though, we've got a bunny and they don't get on well together.

I had one, her name was Moe. About 7 months ago, she scratched her eye and an abcess formed. It was either 400 dollars to put her through sergery, which there was a good chance she would have died in(I did'nt have the money btw) or put her down. So, I had to put her down. She lived a long life, and she got a good spot under a tree near my garden, so it was'nt bad. So yeah, keep those houses clean.

Yeah, they are cool, really friendly. She used to sit on my desk or my bed and just relax and stiff around at stuff.

I've had three guinea pigs. I only have one left now. I bought one and after a day he seemed lonely so I got another one...and he died a few days after I got him. So the first one was lonely again but petco let me have another guinea pig for free...I now only have the third one. I am getting pretty annoyed with it though. I can't get him to stop grinding his teeth and he squeeks a lot. He's not friendly either...

Let him grind, if he does'nt his teeth will just keep growing and growing. You really ought to put a clean wood block(no lumber or 2X4's or anything) so he can chew on it. They make rocks for chewing too, I think. When my girl used to speak up alot, she normally wanted something like food or to get petted.

He always has different things to chew on. I have tried every possible brand, flavor, and form of chew sticks and he chews on it for awhile and then goes back to grinding his teeth. I took him to the vet and the vet said his teeth were heallthy and that he should stop in a few days...well its been a few months. I have a feeding schedule for him, and theres always timothy hay, and those flavored hay cubes in there for him to snack on, he also usually has some other kind of snack. I've tried petting him, holding him, letting him sit on a blanket w/ me, letting him run around (in a plastic container, not the house lol). I also bought him one of those rolling ball things. He just likes squeaking and grinding his teeth I guess.

I have a guinea pig too. Last year I had a couple of guinea pigs but the female one gave birth to four dead babies, I felt really sad... : (

And by the way, in Holland we call guinea pigs cavia's, pretty weird...

I suggest that you try a hard pelleted food. he may not want to chew just for the hell of it, but a harder food might wear down his teeth better.

He does have hard pellety things that he eats. He's just trying to annoy me. And it's working..I am currently trying to find him a new home...If that doesn't work I sure am not going to keep him in my room. Its driving me crazy.

I get really bored by guinea-pigs. I had one, Milly, for four years.. she was sweet, but you cannot get a more boring pet! Seriously! They sit... and eat... and sit... and walk around a bit... then eat some grass... then take a piss... then sit... then eat... it's like having a pet o.a.p! (except for maybe the grass bit...)

Haha, I really like your guinea pig report :D But if you compare a guinea pig to a mouse or another small pet I think the guinea pig is way nicer. It doesn't run away all the time and the pet is not trying to find a way to escape which really annoyed me when I had two desert rats, they always ran away in two different directions!

I have a piggie!! Her name's Pekoe and I got her 6 months ago(but she's 8 months old herself..) and I have to disagree with whoever said they're boring because mine isn't, but I guess everyone else's are.

Pekoe is awesome man, she comes when I call her, and she goes for walks and everything and I have a little harness that she wears for them. She does that thing where they jump straight up in the air(popcorning i believe they call it...) and it's so funny to see. hahaha. oh god.

mine is. it goes in a little tray in a corner of her cage. i just say "go pee" whenever i want her to go before i take her out and she usually does one or the other.

this is the site that helped me to train Pekoe:

That's so cool, my rabbit is like that. Well apart from being trained, never really tried it. She must have been a cat in a past life because she never takes orders. :)

i have one. shes a fat slob and i love her. She really is fat, though. Shes short haired, white with brown (brown, red-brown and grey-brown) spots (cow spots almost) one one side and the other side is completely white. Her eyes are red, and shes completely awesome and beautiful and i love her more than anything. shes my child. shes on my lap right now,a nd keeps hitting keys, so this is taking a while as i need to keep going back and deleting things! haha. i'll post pics of her somedy when my scanners back up and running.

but shes squeaking, so maybe shes saying hi to all of you. or maybe shes just angry taht she finished all the broccoli i brought up. haha. my fatass and her food.

(her name is buttercup, but my family calls her fatass. and she responds as much as a guinea pig can. though im pretty sure shes just responding because she recognizes the voices. either way...)

ok i was kinda feeling guilty about calling milly boring (even though she was), so i've decided to post a pic to make myself feel better. she did look cute, but then so do models and i wouldn't want to spend four years with one of them either, anyway, here she is...
