i lived there and got told by strangers a lot "you're from here, aren't you?" but I didnt really know how to respond since i've never gotten that anywhere i've lived. i think i usually said "well, i'm not a tourist"

 

my accent veers wildly between upper class prick and just stepped off the plane from harare international



but naturally it's well spoken english accent, with flattened vowels, which a lot of people pick up on and ask me if i'm south african "no, zimbabwe" *pause* "oh"

i like speaking in a will-ferrel-from-anchorman accent. i can do it pretty naturally.

i dont think i have a real, natural accent... i moved around too much to really pick one up. but i can also do the average (average as in the one that the gallagher brothers speak) british accent, and who cant do a neat Southern/southeastern one.

 

britain has an amazing variety of accents for such a tiny place some countries *cough*south africa*cough* it barely changes from place to place
